Retired world champion boxer George Foreman appeared on Fox News Wednesday to proclaim his love for America as a number of U.S. athletes publicly expressed their anti-Americanism at the Olympics and across the nation.
Foreman, who is now 72, won a gold medal boxing at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics and proudly stood by and for his country. He carried the American flag around the ring. At that same Olympic event, two Americans named Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised their fists on the podium in a sign of Black Power.
An ever-cheerful Foreman told host Brian Kilmeade that he has “always loved America.” The legendary boxer has proudly celebrated America and her freedoms his entire career, even when segregation and the Vietnam War raged during much of his journey.
“I have always loved America. And once you fall in love just like falling in love with your wife, no one can say anything about her,” Foreman emphatically stated in reference to other athletes. “The next night she is still my wife. And I’m going to stay. That’s why you make that thing ‘until death do we part.’ That’s why nothing has ever shook my faith and love in the country and when you love a country, nothing can bother you. If you are halfway in love you are going to have a lot of trouble.”

As Foreman looked back on his life and career which included becoming a two-time heavyweight champion of the world, he reminisced about those across the nation who had helped him become a success. According to Foreman, they truly represent why he loves this country and what makes it so great.
He also spoke fondly of President Lyndon Johnson, Muhammad Ali, and NFL Hall-of-Famer Jim Brown.
Foreman went on to defend and support police departments in America. He does not agree with political factions in the United States that want to defund and disband the police. Foreman says they played a key role in the lifting up of minority youth and athletes.
“It was the police who started the PAL, Police Athletic League. They taught us how to box. They would travel from one state to the other to see that we won these golden gloves tournaments. They sent us off to the Olympics. I have this fond memory and love for this country and the people in this country. Nobody will ever be able to talk me out of that. That’s love,” Foreman declared.
Foreman referred to the anti-American sentiment permeating America currently as a fad, “It’s all fashionable to be anti-American. It’s fashionable. People ask me what are you talking about? Can’t you see what was done then and what was done now? Can’t you see? And I tell them swiftly, you can’t talk me out of my love.”
Unfortunately, the love felt and expressed by Foreman for America is not shared by a number of her athletes representing the nation in the Olympics this year. Both the American women’s soccer team and Sweden took a knee in protest before their game.
Foreman has previously chastised Colin Kaepernick for his disrespect of America as well.
The gold medal boxing winner is respected and loved by many Americans:

I wish you can punch out the US women soccer team members kneeling during anthem. A sheer embarrassment that the rest of the world are laughing at but the clowns think they’re “signaling” something.
