A filmmaker who began spray-painting “Daddy is a war criminal” on a wall of Hunter Biden’s art gallery in New York City was tackled by two employees and held until the police arrived.
“As we all know, going back for many, many years – roughly 40 years – Joe Biden has involved himself in all kinds of shenanigans,” filmmaker Rod Webber stated as he started recording his vandalism. “Ask any politician – you can’t avoid being corrupted by the office. Maybe he went in with good intentions, but he’s been corrupted over the years. He’s worked with segregationists, Klansmen. And now, I don’t even know what’s going on with this gallery situation but he can’t stop bombing Syria or Iraq and someone should say something about it, so let’s go see Hunter Biden’s gallery.”
Then he walked into the gallery and started spray-painting in bright pink the word “Daddy.” There are also reports that he threw money on the floor of the gallery. Webber is the man who infamously ate a banana that was staged in an art display in 2019 and was then arrested for it. He scrawled “Epstien [stet] didn’t kill himself” before eating the fruit.
An employee accused Rod Webber, 47, of attacking him as he and another man grabbed the protester and body-slammed him to the ground. The filmmaker accused the employees in turn of assaulting him. “Get off me, buddy! Let go of me! Let go of me! S**thead!” he yelled. “You just assaulted me over and over!”

The employee told Webber as he held him on the ground, “This is a citizen’s arrest.”
Webber answered, “Oh because you’re down with Joe Biden’s war crimes?”
He wrote about his planned attack on his blog: “New Daddy is same as the old Daddy. Bombings in Syria and Iraq. Endless wars. Weapons of Mass Destruction was a lie. Art Gallery promotes crime family.”
“I was trying to paint the phrase, ‘Daddy is a war criminal,'” Webber allegedly told police, a prosecutor noted on Saturday at Webber’s arraignment in Manhattan criminal court. He was arrested at approximately 3:40 PM Friday at the George Burgess Art Gallery and is being charged with criminal mischief and assault according to a statement by the NYPD.
Webber allegedly damaged one of Hunter Biden’s paintings that is selling for $14,500. None of Biden’s artwork was ruined in the incident.
As police hauled Webber away, he said he wrote “Daddy war crimes with hair spray – which washes off like any sidewalk art.”
A staff member could be seen painting over the graffiti shortly after the incident ended.
The Daily Mail asked the filmmaker why he did it as he was being arrested and he stated, “Because Hunter Biden is helping to launder money for his godfather. That’s why Daddy War Crimes were the words on the wall. Biden is here to launder money for the oligarchs and to do business for his masters to hurt brown people across the other side of the globe. Download that s***.”
Hunter Biden’s artwork has been in the news and the sale of it is raising concerns from a number of ethics experts.
“The initial reaction a lot of people are going to have is that he’s capitalizing on being the son of a president and wants people to give him a lot of money,” said Richard Painter, who was the chief ethics lawyer under former President George W. Bush. He alluded to the art’s “awfully high prices” as evidence that “the whole thing is a really bad idea.”
“Because we don’t know who is paying for this art and we don’t know for sure that [Hunter Biden] knows, we have no way of monitoring whether people are buying access to the White House. … What these people are paying for is Hunter Biden’s last name,” commented Walter Shaub, who led the Office of Government Ethics under former President Obama.
Biden’s artwork could be sold for as much as $500,000. One curator bluntly claimed that the pricing is entirely attributable to his political status.
“How much of that value is due to the art itself? That’s easy: None of it,” Jeffry Cudlin, a professor of art curatorial studies and practice at the Maryland Institute College of Art, told the Washington Examiner in an email. “They’re fine decorative amateur work. Hey, everybody needs a hobby!”
