President Joe Biden gave a union-backed speech in Illinois, pushing 14 years of free education for all Americans so they can compete globally, while hundreds of Trump supporters protested his fiscally flawed, liberal policies.
On Wednesday, during his speech at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Biden called for an expansion of free public education from 12 to 14 years. He pushed free community college, free childcare, and an extended child tax credit and vowed that his plan would pass in Congress via the reconciliation process.
“We should have a minimum of 14 years of education, without spending a cent,” Biden proclaimed.
“Does anybody think in the 21st century, with changes taking place in technology and across the board, that 12 years of education is enough to be able to live enough middle-class life? I don’t think so,” he remarked. “Imagine if we present the world and nation with a better-educated workforce. It helps everybody.”

As he promoted his investment in “human infrastructure,” more than 100 Trump supporters protested outside, decrying even more spending that Biden justifies with proposals that simply do not add up.

The protesters carried flags and signs in support of the former president. Some used bullhorns to make a statement as they waved at traffic. One large sign proclaimed, “Make America Proud Again.” Another said, “Go Home Sleepy Joe.”

Biden’s proposed 14 years of free education would include two years of pre-Kindergarten instruction. Two years of free community college would also be included under Biden’s American Families Plan. He also wants to increase the size of Pell grants to students which do not have to be repaid.
“The world has caught up, or catching up. They are not waiting. Twelve years is no longer enough today to compete with the rest of the world in the 21st century,” Biden declared. “We have to think bigger, we have to act bolder and we have to build back better.”
The fact is 12 years of education is no longer enough to compete in the 21st Century.
That’s why my Build Back Better Agenda will guarantee four additional years of public education for every person in America – two years of pre-school and two years of free community college.

“The last time energy and the economy grew at this rate was in 1984 when Ronald Reagan was telling us it’s an American morning,” Biden said misquoting former President Ronald Reagan. “This is going to be an American century.”
To win the 21st Century, to build an economy from the bottom up and the middle out, to deal everyone in – we need to invest in our people.

Biden is also calling for the child tax credit to be expanded until 2025. Payments to families start on July 15. It has already been raised from $2,000 per child to $3,000 for children older than six and from $2,000 to $3,600 for children younger than six. The age limit has also been raised from 16 to 17-years-old.
Biden is expanding his $4 trillion infrastructure plan to include “human infrastructure” with a push for massive investment in social programs such as free college, green jobs, and expanded paid family medical leave. All of it with a union twist.
We are one of the few major economies in the world that does not cover paid family and medical leave. My Build Back Better Agenda will change that by providing up to 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave.

The president claims his plans will create “millions of good-paying jobs.”
“We’re going to making the case to the American people until the job is done, until we bring this bipartisan deal home, until we meet the needs of families today and the economy tomorrow,” Biden vowed pushing middle-class and union jobs.
Part of the historic spending is a $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill that would require passage by both political parties. Biden’s second bill is focused on social programs and he plans to shove that through via reconciliation. That would allow Democrats to pass it without the support of Republicans.
Democrats have added more than $6 trillion in spending for pet projects to the social programs bill according to the Daily Mail, which noted that even Senator Joe Manchin, a moderate Democrat from West Virginia, is alarmed at the massive spending. Democrats claim it will be financed by tax increases on the wealthy. The top individual tax rate would go from 37 percent to 39.6 percent and the capital gains tax rate would rise from 20 percent to 39.6 percent for taxpayers making over $1 million.
“I don’t want to punish anybody,” Biden said. “Everybody has to pay their fair share. I’m not trying to gouge anybody but we just get in the game.”
Biden’s call to increase education through more spending was not well-received on Twitter:
They'd put it towards salary increases for superintendents and other things
that are elective and supplementary.
12th grade IS a good cutoff for learning life skillsAfter that it is up to individual
and their family if they want to go further
so they have personal stake in game— Boggled (@boggled102) July 8, 2021
Great thought, but all this President can do is spend our money 💰😎 pic.twitter.com/vJGqcRk8k6

More money. Again. Never works, but hey, maybe this time it will. Why won’t it work? Because the United States public school system is broken beyond repair & needs to be rethought. Perhaps copy schools that are successful even if it promotes competitiveness over tenure. #Teachers pic.twitter.com/5Yvksu0UFI

Biden’s new infrastructure plan is Use our tax money to repair what democrats destroyed. Like repairing blocks of land democrats gave to antifa in Portland. Democrat cities pay for your own destruction. The rest of us didn’t cause it, you did.

No more money.
We 30 trillion in debt

Last time Democrats called people “infrastructure” it was 1861 and they had just started a war to keep their slaves.
