While liberals rushed to heap gushing praise on First Lady Jill Biden for her soon-to-be-released Vogue cover, they mercilessly smeared and attacked former First Lady Melania Trump who wins the fashion contest between the two hands down.
Leftists were quick to attack the former first lady, posting on Twitter extremely vicious sentiments such as the one from novelist Paul Rudnick: “When Melania saw that Jill Biden was on the cover of Vogue, she yelled, ‘Why? Just because she’s smart and nice and compassionate and I’m not? Like those are even real things?'”
Another stated via Twitter: “When a tramp crashes bizarro New York high society, these things are gonna happen.” And yet another sneered: “Character, one of the few things that can’t be bought for money or gold digger “love”. Say ‘bye, M., we like you better gone.”
Those are just a few of the vicious sentiments on social media that were thrown Melania Trump’s way after the Vogue cover was announced. A number of the messages claimed that Jill Biden got the cover that Melania Trump wanted as if that were some kind of prize unworthy of the former first lady.

Reportedly, Melania Trump turned down Vogue twice when they offered to feature her within the magazine but not on the cover. In leaked audio recordings last year, the former first lady said she did not “give a f**k about Vogue.” She did appear on the cover of the magazine in February 2005, wearing her couture John Galliano for Dior wedding dress.
In December, former President Trump shared a tweet from Breitbart News which noted: “The elitist snobs in the fashion press have kept the most elegant first lady in American history off the covers of magazines for four consecutive years.” He added that his first lady was “the greatest of all time.”
Tuesday, Vogue Magazine ran a 6,000-word homage to Jill Biden as they unveiled August’s cover featuring the liberal first lady calling her a “First Lady for all of us” and a “joy multiplier.” The magazine never had former First Lady Melania Trump on its cover during her time in the White House. She was the only first lady in recent history to not grace the mag’s cover. Michelle Obama was honored three times by Vogue and even Hillary Clinton made the cover once. Barbara Bush and Laura Bush were both featured inside the publication, but never on the cover. Vogue’s editor Anna Wintour vowed that Melania Trump would never again be on the cover of the fashion rag. She called it “taking a stand.”
Both liberals and conservatives had a lot to say about the first lady being showcased by Vogue. There was adoration on the left for all things connected to the Jill Biden and outrage on the right for the blatant snubbing of a formal model and possibly the most beautiful first lady to ever grace the White House. Melania Trump’s style and sense of decorum were often compared to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Vogue, which began publishing in 1892, has often featured the current first lady either within the magazine or on the cover. Melania Trump’s absence was a purely political gesture and discredited the magazine for many as far as fashion goes.

It was a placating gesture to liberals who ate it up. Melania’s beauty and fashion sense have been constantly trashed by the left even though what she wore was always headline material and stunning.
The magazine’s hypocrisy was picked up by conservatives. It seems unimaginable that one of the most beautiful women in the world who was a fashion icon would be snubbed by Vogue the way she was and denied a spot on the cover over purely unadulterated politics.
“Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy labeled the magazine’s long and gushing August cover story both “undeserving” and “premature.” She also noted it was “typical” of a media that overwhelmingly promotes Democrats and vilifies Republicans.
She stated that “they have every right to do that, but as conservatives and as just fair observers we have every right to call it out for the hypocrisy that it actually is.”
According to the Washington Examiner, Campos-Duffy described Wintour’s decision “as fashion affirmative action.” “They never put impeccably stylish FLOTUS, Melania Trump, on their cover. Vogue is a joke!” she tweeted.
#VogueMagazine trying to convince us that suburban grandmas in floral frocks are so fashionable is hilarious & insulting😂
The emperor has no clothes!! This is fashion affirmative action. They never put impeccably stylish FLOTUS, Melania Trump, on their cover. Vogue is a joke! pic.twitter.com/yD9V1ZZB1r— Rachel Campos-Duffy (@RCamposDuffy) June 29, 2021
Despite the hatred on display towards Melania Trump, there was a lot of love that conservatives expressed for the former first lady as well as a ton of disdain for the media and the left:
It’s a pathetic double standard that Melania never got a magazine cover, given she’s a self made super model millionaire immigrant who speaks five languages. But let’s also applaud Jill Biden’s ability to speak two languages, English and Joe.

Why do you think First Ladies: Jill Biden (1 time), Michelle Obama (12 times), Hillary Clinton (1 time) have all been on the @voguemagazine cover and Melania Trump (a former fashion model) was not..? https://t.co/gIgnVZHPYl

Jill Biden, PHONY DOCTOR, is not a fashion model like MELANIA, a multi-lingual IMMIGRANT. That’s INTERESTING. Buy she was never on the cover. The only interesting thing about JILL is the JUICY and mostly Untold story of how she met Joe. Do Tell Jill! https://t.co/BOPeZKJj7D

Irrespective of your politics, pretty unfair to see Melania Trump, a supermodel who dressed impeccably, be ignored, while Jill Biden gets a Vogue cover and YAAAASSS KWEENing from social media. https://t.co/ioQWb2UqwX

The mag that refused for 4 years even to mention fashionista ex-model Melania Trump: “Bidens’ right-out-of-the-gate successes… calm, experienced, empathetic president… driven, tireless, effortlessly popular… First Lady for All of Us … Dr Jill Biden https://t.co/NMemlTpEMn
