Former ICE Director Tom Homan slammed the Biden administration’s “open borders” policies Tuesday on “Fox & Friends” after watching a stunning Fox News video that showed dozens of migrants coming across the Rio Grande in Texas.
While speaking with Fox host Steve Doocy, Homan was asked about his reaction to a sheriff in Del Rio, Texas who claimed things had never been worse there. He said that the crisis is tying up their resources, there are no answers, and there doesn’t seem to be a plan in place.
Doocy pointed out that the videos show 30, 40, 50 at a time crossing over. They come from places like Cuba and Venezuela, not just Mexico and the Northern Triangle. He stated that the Border Patrol and the sheriffs are right there helping the illegal immigrants come over and then asked Homan: “Remember in the old days, when the Border Patrol would stand on one side and say, ‘Hey no… turn around, go the other way’?”
Homan responded: “I was a Border Patrol agent. They either ran from you or they hid from you. This is unbelievable where we’re at as a nation. But look, they’ve been invited, right? Joe Biden made promises. They won’t be deported, they won’t be detained. They’ll get free health care. He’s going to shut down ICE. I mean, these people were invited and they’re coming. And what’s really irritating, Steve, is the Biden administration knows how to stop this… What they’re doing now, release them as quickly as possible without going to see a court — they’re not even getting a court date. They’re getting a brand new cell phone, a brand new smartphone, compliments of the taxpayers. They get released with those, no court date. And ICE can’t remove them even if they get an order to remove them because they can’t remove immigration offenders anymore.”

Doocy pointed out that the border is obviously not closed and it’s a crisis. He also called it an “invasion.”
Homan replied to that reiterating what he has said all along: “They’re getting really good at releasing people as quick as possible so that doesn’t seem to be overcrowding at the Border Patrol facilities. Meanwhile, they’re ignoring the border and the thousands coming across every day. Their actions speak louder than the words… This is open borders agenda. This is open borders. And this is what the Bush administration meant. This is by design. This isn’t by accident.”
He contended that illegal immigrants have to commit an aggravated felony for ICE to even look at them now. They are allegedly being released by the thousands into the country on a daily basis.
Then Doocy brought up White House Deputy Director at the Office of Political Strategy and Outreach Natalie Montelongo who is an advocate for abolishing ICE. She worked for San Antonio Mayor Julían Castro’s 2020 Democratic presidential campaign and in the Obama administration.
“This administration’s actions are not motivated by public safety concerns – they’re terrorizing immigrant communities. #ICE didn’t exist 15 years ago, it doesn’t have to exist now,” Montelongo tweeted on May 10, 2018.
“If you’re looking for a way to help – look up your nearest ICE office and shut-it-down,” Montelongo also wrote on June 21, 2018, in response to anti-ICE protests in Portland.
Homan stepped up to the plate and stated that she probably got her job because of those tweets stating that she hates ICE. He also said Vice President Kamala Harris compared ICE to the KKK and that’s how she probably got her job as well.
Then he concluded by noting how ICE arrests thousands of criminals every year including sexual predators, murderers, human traffickers, child predators, drug dealers, and gun runners.
