Fresh off of collecting corporate welfare from the U.K. and U.S. governments during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, anti-Trump actor Robert De Niro is reportedly now trying to earn some more money by hawking coronavirus building seals.

He’s hawking the seals for the International WELL Building Institute, an organization that coronavirus-proofs buildings for its clients and then slaps a “WELL Health-Safety Seal” on the buildings as proof, according to the New York Post.

“When you see the WELL Health-Safety seal, you can feel confident knowing the space you’re entering is putting your health first,” the company’s website states.

De Niro and a slew of other celebrities can all be seen promoting the seal in several videos that have been uploaded to YouTube by the IWBI.

Watch one below:

The video begins with singer and actress Jennifer Lopez saying, “As an entertainer a businesswoman, and especially as a mother, I really love it when we’re allowed to be out and together.”

The video then switches to De Niro,  who chimes in by saying, “As an actor and director, I’ve always been a collaborative person.”

Fact-check: FALSE.

De Niro certainly hasn’t been “collaborative” with his estranged wife, with whom he’s been feuding publicly and in the courts for several years now.

Nor was he “collaborative” with his former female assistant Chase Robinson, who in 2019 sued him for having allegedly been a sexist, misogynist, and abusive pig who’d privately referred to women as “b*****s” and “c**ts” and who’d spent over a decade harassing, berating, and bullying her.

The video continues with several additional celebrities speaking.

“I’m constantly inspired being around people and feeling their energy live, but that’s been hard during COVID. We all want to get back to enjoying restaurants, stores, hotels, stadiums, and feel safer in the places we love. How can we feel more confident that the schools, child care centers, offices and banks that we go to are working to keep us safe?” they say.

The video eventually returns to De Niro, who says, “Look for the ‘WELL Health-Safety Seal.'”

Watch another video below:

“Everything may look the same, but the ‘WELL Health-Safety Seal’ means that your health and safety are top of mind,” the actor says in the second video above.

It’s not clear how much the money-hungry actor was paid for the gig. What’s known is that he’s had quite a big of financial difficulties in the past few years.

Last year the multimillionaire actor reportedly collected millions in coronavirus relief money from the U.K. government and U.S. government to fund the operations of a restaurant chain he co-owns.

Over in the U.S., his chain collected 14 loans for a total of $28 million, as reported last summer by CNBC.

“Restaurants were among the biggest recipients of the Paycheck Protection Program, a key component of the government’s response to the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The news that big, well-funded chains like Shake Shack and Ruth’s Hospitality Group had initially gotten loans set off a furor in April, prompting the administration to warn companies to make sure they qualified for the program,” CNBC reported.

Then-Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin warned companies that they should try and secure money by other means first, such as by the enormous wealth of their owners. In De Niro’s case, he’s reportedly worth half a billion dollars.

The notoriously anti-Trump actor’s also had to contend with the machinations of his estranged wife, who’s been trying to secure a piece of his $500 pie through their ongoing divorce proceedings — and who’s thus far reportedly been successful in her endeavors.

In court last month, his lawyer reportedly claimed that his wife’s been spending so much of his money that he’s had to work extra hard just to keep up financially.

“Robert De Niro is being worked to death to keep up with his estranged wife’s extravagant lifestyle — including her ‘thirst for Stella McCartney’ and $1 million-plus diamond rings, his lawyer claimed in court,” Page Six reported last month.

“The elderly acting legend is already a tax delinquent again — with the paychecks from his next two movies to offset his latest multimillion-dollar bill to Uncle Sam, his divorce lawyer claimed.”

This would definitely explain his decision to hawk coronavirus building seals.

“When does that stop? When does he get the opportunity to not take every project that comes along and not work six-day weeks, 12-hour days so he can keep pace with Ms. Hightower’s thirst for Stella McCartney?” his lawyer reportedly asked.

Yet according to his attorney, De Niro’s wife spent only $1.67 million in 2019. While that’s a lot of money, it’s still far short of his net worth. It’s even short of the $28 million that he bilked from the U.S. government last year.
