Late-night talk show host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel ran a very unfunny segment on his show Tuesday where one featured doctor told those who are hesitant to get the COVID-19 inoculation, “Grow the f**k up and take the vaccine.”
The video sported several doctors and nurses who crowed over their degrees and experience as if somehow they were above everyone else before ripping into anyone who hasn’t gotten their shot yet. They made fun of those who don’t trust the vaccine that is being shoved down their throats by the government, politicians, and elitists. Even WebMD promoted the crass and insulting video.
The CDC claims that over 100 million adults in the U.S. are now fully vaccinated. But Kimmel pointed out that 26% of adults still say they don’t intend to get a vaccine.
“I get that people are skeptical of politicians or celebrities telling them what to do, but we should listen to doctors,” he remarked. “These are men and women who have been on the front lines of this thing, risking their lives to save ours, and they’re frustrated. Who could blame them?”

“If we don’t get more people vaccinated, we could see new mutations of this virus and go through this all over again,” Kimmel warned. “Pay attention, because this is important.”
The cringy video showcases doctors ridiculing those not getting vaccinated, insinuating they are stupid and uneducated: “My life is spent trying to improve and to save yours,” one alleged physician in a white lab coat declares.
“Oh, but you read something on Facebook?” another doctor mockingly states. A female nurse then snarks, “Your friend from high school, who sells jewelry, she posted it?” A male nurse mocked: “The one who’s 53 and still builds dollhouses?”
“Is he a doctor? No? Scientist? No?” one doctor said.
“Can he name one of the ingredients in the vaccine?” a critical care nurse asked.
A female doctor unprofessionally declared: “Then tell them to shut the f**k up.” She proceeded to emphatically use her middle finger to make her educated point.
At the end of the video, the purported doctors order viewers to “get the vaccine,” with the same profane female physician slamming viewers to, “grow the f**k up and get the vaccine.”
Unbelievably, the video ends with an incredibly condescending message that states, “brought to you by people who are smarter than we are.”
Kimmel went on to interview Dr. Anthony Fauci who proceeded to whine that it is “very frustrating” when people denigrate the vaccines or refuse to take them.
“Yes, Jimmy, it is very frustrating,” Fauci said, referring to anyone who won’t get vaccinated. “There’s a societal responsibility that we should all have to put an end to this outbreak. And if you have a group of people who understandably may think that they are invulnerable because they are young and healthy… and therefore it doesn’t make any difference if they get infected because they likely will do well, that’s really not the right attitude.”
People on Twitter did not see the purported humor in the video at all. In fact, it apparently alienated even more people when it comes to getting vaccinated:

Being hostile and dismissive towards those hesitant to take the vaccine isn’t the way to go, and it won’t move the needle.

I am a nurse and my response to this is shame on you for this video. We are better than this. We are here to respect peoples choices just like the choices they make when they see us in our clinics and our hospitals. You all in this video may need a good hard look on growing up.

Maybe letting doctors express unbridled fury towards the people they’re ostensibly trying to help is a bad idea that will cost the lives of undecided citizens?
I happily got the vaccine, I think it’s completely safe. I also think this video will indirectly cause people to die.
