A minority family that fled California because of its embrace of critical race theory propaganda was horrified to discover that the illiberal ideology is even more prevalent in the schools of Utah, a state that’s been led by Republicans since 1985.

The couple, Gloria Vindas and her husband, Oscar, made headlines recently on the local level when Vindas delivered remarks at a local school district meeting slamming the district’s embrace of CRT propaganda.

“Teaching them multiculturalism and appreciating and respecting different ethnicities and cultures is one thing, but teaching that our Caucasian brothers and sisters are systemically racist because of the way they were born is also racist. And let it be said, if anyone thinks that my husband and I come from a place of privilege as a minority, you couldn’t be further from the truth,” Vindas said at the hearing.

CRT Jordan School District Meeting April 27th

Parents across the state of Utah are concerned about Critical Race Theory (CRT) being taught in their schools.

Jordan School District parents are no strangers to CRT and spoke up about their concerns at the April 27 board meeting.

Controversial topics like critical race theory are not allowed to be taught under Utah State Code.

UPU believes CRT is divisive not inclusive. We recognize there are injustices in the world that need to be addressed, however, we believe CRT is not the answer. There are other curricula that address racism and foster unity and inclusion that we propose instead.

If you are unfamiliar with CRT this public comment is an excellent introduction. We encourage parents to further educate themselves on what is being taught in their schools.

As part of our mission to educate and empower parents we will be providing educational tools and resources to help parents navigate controversial topics.

Speaking on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends First” this Wednesday, Vindas said that, after home-schooling her son since the seventh grade because of California’s “woke” education system, she’d been excited to enroll him in Utah’s schools. But once she started doing her research, she discovered that things were no different in Utah.

“I was excited to put them in here [in Utah]. But after talking to many of the locals here and doing some research of my own and actually calling some of the superintendents and different things at this administration at the schools, I found … it is still being taught in the Utah education system,” she said.

Worse, she continued, critical race theory propaganda is even more prevalent in Utah’s schools, where children are reportedly being indoctrinated in racial essentialist dogma that divides people into categories such as oppressor and victim.

“These kids are going to school to learn, and they should be learning, you know, basic math, reading learning, skills, not being taught, just because the color of your skin, you’re racist,” Vindas’s husband noted.

Watch the couple’s Fox News interview below:

Conservatives across the country have been fervently pushing back on critical race theory propaganda, but it’s been a difficult battle because of how successful “woke” academia and media have been in hiding CRT’s nature.

To hear mainstream media “journalists” and pundits tell it, CRT is just another word for teaching about slavery and promoting diversity. But that’s not the truth.

“If you go back to where critical theory comes from, the Frankfurt Manifesto, which really stems from Karl Marx, so really Marxism,” Vindas pointed out.

Asked by host Todd Piro of what her “biggest fear” is regarding the teaching of CRT, Vindas pointed to the history of Marxism.

“My biggest fear is where it leads. When critical race theory is first presented … it can be presented in a lot of ways that sound really good in the beginning. But the more you go and follow it, the more divisive it becomes,” she said.

For instance, CRT often goes hand-in-hand with the sort of Maoist-styled “struggle sessions” that occurred during China’s immensity deadly Cultural Revolution.

Last year, a Nevada mother filed a civil rights lawsuit after a publicly funded charter school tried to shame their biracial son for being a so-called “privileged white male oppressor.”

This Marxist tactic of shaming and humiliation seemingly comprises much of far-left rhetoric in every industry and every institution, including literature.

Back in 2019, The Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan wrote a piece describing the links between the shaming/humiliation being perpetrated in the world of literature and the shaming/humiliation of China’s Cultural Revolution.

“The spirit of the struggle session is all over Twitter. On literary Twitter social-justice warriors get advance copies of new books and denounce them for deviationism—as insensitive, racist, appropriative, anti-LGBTQ. Books on the eve of publication have been pulled, sometimes withdrawn by authors who apologize profusely. Everyone’s scared. And the tormentors are not satisfied by an apology. They’re excited by it and prowl for more prey,” she wrote.

Part of the problem is that the zealous advocates of CRT and other Marxist philosophies don’t care to listen to feedback and criticism.

“The school boards are not listening to any parents, any of their constituents. They just refuse to listen, and that’s what we found in California, which is one of the main reasons we’ve decided to move here. So I’m concerned because it’s creating an environment here in Utah that’s creating more divide, and I blame the officials at the top here in Utah,” Vindas said.

Indeed, the blame for CRT’s growth and expansion in America’s educational system does go all the way to the very top, though thanks to parents like Vindas and her husband, those at the top are now facing serious pushback.
