Left-wing CNN political commentator Jim Acosta, whose official title is that of “chief domestic correspondent,” attacked several Fox News hosts and congressional Republicans on Saturday for daring to oppose the Democrat Party’s narratives.

One recent narrative is that now-convicted former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s trial was on the up and up. This narrative was challenged on Tuesday by Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who argued that Chauvin’s guilty verdict was nothing more than a reflection of all the intimidation the jurors had faced.

“The jury in the Derek Chauvin trial came to a unanimous and unequivocal verdict Tuesday afternoon: ‘Please don’t hurt us.’ The jurors spoke for many in this country. everyone understood perfectly well the consequences of an acquittal in this case. After nearly a year of burning, looting and murder by BLM, that was never in doubt,” the Fox News host said.

His point was essentially proven one day later when an alternate juror in the trial admitted to local media that she’d been afraid that left-wing extremists would visit her home and riot “if they were not happy with the verdict.”

But according to Acosta, this is all a “big lie.”

But let’s be real. Tucker Carlson’s anger wasn’t about the actions of a police officer who murdered a man, but about the guilty verdict. Or as Carlson, Fox’s chief white power correspondent, described the decision, ‘please don’t hurt us,’” the CNN commentator dismissively said Saturday on “CNN Newsroom.”

Now, you can call this an act or a shtick, but these big race-baiting lies have been spreading like a cancer on the far-right. They are dangerous, and they’ve reached the halls of Congress.”

Listen:

To prove his point about these “big race-baiting lies” reaching Congress, he then pointed to a tweet posted by Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene on the night before the verdict was read.

“DC is completely dead tonight. People stayed in and were scared to go out because of fear of riots. Police are everywhere and have riot gear.#BLM is the strongest terrorist threat in our county,” the congresswoman had written.

Look:

“That’s a lie. Let’s be real. People were not hiding in the homes that night. I went out. I had a burger. It was delicious,” Acosta said of this tweet.

It’s true that D.C. wasn’t rocked by riots this week.

Acosta then juxtaposed video footage of Black Lives Matter protesters marching peacefully with video footage of the Jan. 6th Capitol rioters fighting with police to suggest that the very notion that BLM is violent is itself a lie.

But in positing this claim, some say it was he who was telling a “big lie.”

There is literal video footage from before Tuesday’s verdict of a prominent BLM activist warning that “all hell is gonna break loose” and nobody should “be surprised when buildings are on fire” if Chauvin were to be acquitted.

There’s also plenty of recent riot footage from Portland, Oregon, and Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. There’s even recent insurrection footage from Oklahoma City.

But again, according to Acosta this is all a “big lie,” and you shouldn’t believe your lying eyes and ears (*Language warning):

You also shouldn’t believe all the data showing that over the past year BLM rioters have destroyed hundreds of small businesses, vandalized hundreds of federal buildings, injured hundreds of police officers and killed dozens of innocent people.

All you should believe, according to Acosta, is what the Democrat Party and its media allies tell you, even when what they say is demonstrably false
