MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell handles nasty pranksters like a champ during telethon for new venture

Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, was pranked by a fake phone call from someone claiming to be former President Donald Trump during a telethon Monday aimed at raising funds for a new social media venture.

The prank call came in as Lindell hosted a two-day event called “Frankathon” as a means of promoting the platform, “Frank Speech.”

In a video clip, Lindell is seen taking a call from a female screener who claimed she had Trump on the phone.

“Oh, we have the president here, our real president, everyone,” Lindell said.

At that point, the prank caller began to shout obscenities, causing Lindell to quickly drop the call.

“You see what they’re doing. They’re attacking us,” Lindell said following the prank call.

Earlier, Lindell also got a prank call from someone posing as a Wall Street Journal reporter.

Last week, Lindell, a vocal supporter of Trump, said his new platform would seek to combine functions of other pre-existing platforms.

“This is gonna be a platform like no other, it’s kinda like a YouTube-Twitter combination,” he said.

The CEO went on to say that he’s been working on the platform for about four years and has put millions into the effort.

“I’ve spent millions of dollars making it the most secure, we’re gonna be able to handle the capacity, your everything’s gonna be the most secure, we’re gonna be attacked, but I have my own servers and everything. We’re not gonna be worried about Amazon taking it down, or YouTube or Google, or Apple,” Lindell said.

“You’ve never seen anything like it. You’re gonna love it, you’re gonna have your own YouTube channel, only that’s your Twitter handle, or Twitter channel, so to speak. But I’m just so excited,” he continued.

“It’s gonna be, all of the cancels of our First Amendment we’re seeing going on right now, well guess what, it’s coming back, you’re not gonna have to worry about what you’re saying,” he said.

“Everyone is going to be able to talk freely,” he told conservative host Graham Ledger on the Ledger Report podcast. “When you come over now you are going to be able to speak out and have opinions.”

That said, Lindell added in a video posted to the social media platform: “You don’t get to use the four swear words: the c-word, the n-word, the f-word, or God’s name in vain.”

“Free speech is not pornography. Free speech is not ‘I’m going to kill you’,” he added.

Lindell was booted off the major social media platforms following the 2020 election after he espoused what were criticized as conspiracy theories about Dominion Voting System machines changing votes from Trump to then-Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

The allegations resulted in the Minnesota-based CEO being slapped with a massive $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit, which he had practically begged the firm to do for weeks.

“I’m very happy that they finally got that suit filed. My message to Dominion is thank you for finally getting this done, because it’ll be back in the limelight now,” he told CNBC in February after the suit was filed.

In mid-March, Lindell announced he would be filing a billion-dollar countersuit against Dominion, and that he had retained Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz for his legal team.
