‘This is not a zoo, sir’: Biden lackey blocks Ted Cruz from taking video at border facility

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) took 18 Republican senators down to the southern U.S. border to see the immigration facilities there for themselves and was confronted and threatened by a Biden operative when he tried to take a video.

The incident took place in Donna, Texas as Cruz attempted to record on video the children who were packed into the over-crowded facility. An unnamed staffer got in Cruz’s face and started demanding that he respect the facility’s rules.

As the border situation explodes and a full-blown catastrophe is being witnessed, the Biden administration is still denying there is a crisis at all. Thousands of unaccompanied minors are attempting to cross the border into the United States. Facilities are packed with children to many times their normal capacity. Cruz was recording and reporting on the dire circumstances at the border despite attempts to prevent him from doing so. Reporters were also not allowed in the facilities.

On “Sunday Morning Futures” with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, Cruz laid out just how bad it is there and how the Biden administration is allegedly trying to cover it up. He described the woman who attempted to block his video as a “political operative.” She kept repeating a very scripted: “Please give dignity to the people. Please give dignity to the people. … Please respect the people, the rules.” As Cruz asked whether packing individuals into such a crowded area was “dignified,” she quipped, “this is not a zoo, sir.”

“So you work for the commissioner, you’re a senior adviser, you were hired two weeks ago and you’re instructed to ask us to not have any pictures taken here because the political leadership at DHS does not want the American people to know it,” Cruz stated.

“Please don’t treat the people as such,” she requested of Cruz.

“Your policies are unfortunately trying to hide them. I understand that you were instructed,” Cruz informed her. “I respect them, and I want to fix this situation, and the administration that you work for is responsible for these conditions.”

Cruz and Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) led the delegation of senators to the border. Biden staffers tried to get senators to delete pictures they had taken as well and the Republicans refused. Pictures were released showing packed pens with children practically on top of one another.

“The Donna facility where that video you just showed was taken, the Donna facility is this giant tent city that they’ve built. It’s massive. It’s designed to hold a thousand people but under COVID restrictions, its capacity is 250. It right now has over 4,000 people in it. It is at a 1,500% capacity and that meant you saw in these cages children, little boys and little girls, side by side, they’re not 6-feet apart,” Cruz alleged.

“In that facility, the children there are testing positive for COVID at roughly a 10% rate,” he concluded.

Cruz tweeted: “Due to President Biden’s policies, the situation on the border is the worst I’ve ever seen. The Donna, Texas facility is at 1,500% capacity and kids are locked in cages side by side.”

Cruz also wrote a letter to Biden charging that “an official jumped in front of his camera at a detention facility and ‘threatened another senator that if he did not delete his pictures, the entire delegation would be kicked out.'”

“This is outrageous. The Trump administration allowed media into DHS facilities. So did the Obama administration, the Bush administration, and the Clinton administration. But you want to hide what is going on,” Cruz said, accusing Biden.

“I again urge you to stop denying reality, confront the consequences of your policies, and allow the media access to these facilities,” Cruz demanded. “The media should be able to come with me on my tour of the KBH center to show the American people what is happening in this country.”
