Move over Krispy Kreme! Infamous NJ gym giving free memberships to those who DECLINE covid jab

While Krispy Kreme’s been busy doling out a free doughnut to anybody who’s obtained a coronavirus vaccine, one New Jersey gym’s been busy doling out a free membership to anybody who’s chosen to not obtain the vaccine.

Ian Smith, the co-owner of Atilis Gym, which became famous last year for refusing to shut down in accordance with the state’s draconian coronavirus lockdown restrictions, announced the stunning offer Tuesday on Twitter. And incidentally, he kind of credited Krispy Kreme for the inspiration.

Smith defended the decision to grant free memberships to those who abstain from obtaining a virus by arguing that the only “real way” to a healthy life is via “exercise, good diet, plenty of Vitamin D, Zinc, and an environment to destress.”

The tweet predictably provoked an outpouring of backlash.

Some of the critics also came at Smith on a personal level by targeting him over over what happened in 2007, when, at the age of 20, he was involved in a fatal drunk driving accident that led to the death of 19-year-old Kevin Ade.

Smith already addressed this part of his past in an Instagram video last year:

As for the current situation, Smith responded two days after posting his original tweet by pointing out in an additional tweet that, despite claims last year from lockdown fanatics that Atilis Gym’s refusal to shut its doors amid the crisis would trigger deaths, none of its members ever succumbed to the virus.

He also revealed that he’s been receiving endless hate mail and expressed confusion over why those who’ve been vaccinated and are therefore presumably safe from the coronavirus are so concerned about those who haven’t been vaccinated.

The insinuation was that there’s another factor at play — perhaps just groupthink or even a sick desire to control people and how they live.

Smith and fellow Atilis Gym co-owner Frank Trumbetti faced the same backlash when they refused to shutter their business last spring — and not only from the public, but also from Gov. Phil Murphy as well.

Over the summer, Murphy repeatedly fined the two men and reportedly even “seized” their legal defense funds. By December, they’d been fined up to $1 million, they’d had their business license stripped, they’d had their doors locked and barricaded, they’d been arrested and more — yet they were still open and serving lifters.

Not until September did gyms reopen in New Jersey, and even then, they were and still remain restricted by a mask mandate that Smith and Trumbetti have also refused to abide by.

According to Smith, masks do “absolutely nothing” to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (*Language warning):
