Psaki uses ‘c’ word to describe situation at the border, then tries to take it back

For the first time since the Biden administration took office, White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Thursday briefly spoke honestly and transparently to the media about the crisis of illegal aliens flooding the southern U.S. border.

However, it appears her literal five seconds of transparency were just a mistake …

During the briefing, reporters asked Psaki about the administration’s plans to “lend” millions of coronavirus vaccines to Mexico and Canada. One unidentified male reporter specifically asked whether the doses to be lent to Mexico in particular will be accompanied by any stipulations regarding the ongoing border crisis.

“On these vaccines going to Mexico, this comes of course as the United States is talking to Mexico about this border situation. Were there any strings attached regarding the situation on the border with this decision to give AstraZeneca doses to Mexico?” he said.

Notice how the reporter vaguely referenced a “situation on the border.”

Psaki initially replied with a long screed about ongoing “parallel conversations,” including one concerning the so-called “challenges at the border.”

“There’s several diplomatic conversations, parallel conversations, many layers of conversations with every country, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Asia, around the world. And certainly being part of contributing to preventing the spread of a global pandemic is one of our diplomatic objectives,” she said.

Another one of our diplomatic objectives is working to address the challenges at the border. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that those conversations are both ongoing and happening,” she added.

This prompted the reporter to ask for a bit more clarity.

“If I’m hearing you, the vaccine was given, [but] were there expectations set with the Mexicans that they have to deal with the situation on the border?” he said.

Note again how he vaguely referenced a “situation on the border.” Yet in replying, Psaki accidentally revealed that the “situation” is in fact a full-blown crisis.

There have been expectations set outside of unrelated to any vaccine doses or requests for them that they would be partners in dealing with the crisis on the border. And there have been requests unrelated for doses of these vaccines. Every relationship has multiple layers of conversations that are happening at the same time,” she said.

For some reason, the reporter never followed up with her about the change in lingo. But about 15 minutes later, another reporter did.

“When you were talking a moment ago about diplomatic negotiations between United States and Mexico, you said crisis on the border. Was that …,” this reporter said before being cut off by the press secretary.

“Challenges on the border,” she said in a clear-cut backtrack.

“So that doesn’t reflect any change in the administration’s view of things?” the reporter then asked.

Nope, nope,” Psaki replied.

In other words, her brief moment of transparency was a fluke — and it’s still NOT “in the administration’s view of things” to speak honestly about the border crisis.

The reality is that there’s a full-fledged crisis at the border — one so obvious that pro-Biden media networks such as CNN and NBC have already admitted it.

Southwest border crisis leaves Biden vulnerable on all sides,” reads a CNN headline from Tuesday.

Biden immigration policies cause a predictable border crisis. Why didn’t he plan for it?” reads another headline, this one from an NBC News “analysis” piece published Sunday.

The video footage coming from the border is just as undeniable.

Look:

As evident by Psaki’s wordplay, as well as President Joe Biden’s own denials, the administration refuses to be honest and transparent about the crisis. So much so that that the administration has reportedly imposed an unofficial gag order on all U.S. Border Patrol officials preventing them from speaking to the media about the crisis.

“Border Patrol officials have been told to deny all media requests for ‘ride-alongs’ with agents along the southern land border; local press officers are instructed to send all information queries, even from local media, to the press office in Washington for approval; and those responsible for cultivating data about the number of migrants in custody have been reminded not to share the information with anyone to prevent leaks,” NBC News reported Wednesday.

“The new restrictions have been passed down verbally, not through an official memo, the officials said. The unofficial policy has led some agents at the border to release videos that show mass arrests and surges of migrants without permission from Washington, two officials said,” the notoriously left-wing outlet added.
