2 months later, where’s the evidence GOP lawmakers were involved in Jan 6 riots as Dems claim?

Two months ago, a number of House Democrats leveled the accusation that some of their Republican colleagues gave “recon tours” to Jan. 6 rioters prior to their storming of the Capitol… there is still no evidence that occurred.

Federal prosecutors, however, are still “requesting video” from authorities. They are trying to ascertain whether certain Republican representatives gave tours prior to the riot according to an inside source, Fox News reported.

The U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia hasn’t given up investigating allegations that Republican House members gave Capitol tours in the days before the riot. Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers are ringing the alarm bells calling the unsubstantiated allegations “dangerous.”

“There was never any name. There was never anyone who anyone saw do something to have the charge of basically running reconnaissance tours leveled against them,” stated House Administration Committee ranking member Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL). “I think it’s part of the problem we have around here, that there will be accusations leveled and the media discusses those accusations but we don’t ask the simple question – who are they talking about? We can’t speculate because that’s a very dangerous place for anyone to be.”

Colorado’s Rep. Lauren Boebert was one of those accused of giving tours. She categorically denied it.

The Democrats reportedly still have their sights set on Republican Boebert as well as Reps. Mo Brooks, and Paul Gosar.

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH), the chairman of the House subcommittee with oversight authority over the Capitol Police, told reporters in February that the case was “in the hands of the U.S. Attorney here in D.C… They are reviewing the footage.”

The allegations first came to light in January. Rep. Mikie Sherrill stated: “I also intend to see that those members of Congress who abetted him, those members of Congress who had groups coming through the capitol that I saw on Jan. 5 for reconnaissance for the next day. Those members of Congress who incited the violent crowd. Those members of Congress that attempted to help our president undermine our democracy, I’m going see that they’re held accountable.”

Other House Democrats followed suit and then demanded an immediate investigation into “suspicious behavior” and access they alleged was provided to visitors to the Capitol before the riot.

Thirty-four Democrats called on the Capitol Police and the acting House and Senate sergeants-at-arms in a letter to investigate the matter.

“The visitors encountered by some of the members of Congress on this letter appeared to be associated with the rally at the White House the following day,” they wrote. “Members of the group that attacked the Capitol seemed to have an unusually detailed knowledge of the layout of the Capitol Complex. The presence of these groups within the Capitol Complex was indeed suspicious.”

No lawmakers were named in the letter in connection to the “reconnaissance” tours. Likewise, no detail was given on specifics concerning suspicious visitors.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi flatly stated in January that any Republican members of Congress who assisted the rioters could face criminal charges.

It should be noted that even left-leaning Snopes has categorized the accusation of “recon tours” as “unproven.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia is also investigating hundreds of alleged rioters from Jan. 6. They have charged more than 300 individuals and are expected to charge at least another 100. Authorities have still not found the person(s) allegedly responsible for placing pipe bombs near both the RNC and DNC headquarters in D.C. They have a video of a suspect planting the bombs.
