An Australian man named Richard Pusey has pleaded guilty to filming and mocking four dying police officers during a horrific crash last year that was the result of his being pulled over in his Porsche.
Millionaire businessman Richard Paul Pusey, 41, was driving down a Melbourne freeway in April 2020 when he was pulled over for allegedly speeding. The four officers got out of their vehicles to give him a citation and were struck by a truck that had veered from its lane. All four would later die but not before Pusey whipped out his phone and recorded the tragic scene complete with commentary.
Ironically, Pusey avoided the crash and was unhurt. Instead of helping after the brutal crash, the former nurse proceeded to film the dying police officers for more than three minutes. He then shared the video with friends. Victorian Police Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton also alleges Pusey took pictures of the deadly scene and posted them on Facebook.
At one point, he stood over the dying female officer and taunted her as she lay crushed under the truck but was allegedly still alive. “There you go, amazing, absolutely amazing. All I wanted to do was go home and have some sushi and now you f—ed my f—ing car,” Pusey cruelly commented while watching Senior Constable Taylor slip away.

Victoria’s police minister found Pusey’s actions abhorrent and said his comments were “completely sickening.”
The four officers who lost their lives that day were Constables Glen Humphris and Josh Prestney, and Senior Constables Lynette Taylor and Kevin King. It was the first week of duty for one of the male officers. The tragedy was the single biggest loss of life in Victoria police’s history.
Pusey is a mortgage broker who has for almost a year declared his innocence in the case. It would appear that his plea of guilty is an effort to obtain leniency from the court on his charges. There is no word if there was a plea deal involved. On Wednesday he pleaded guilty.
He originally fled the scene of the crime but was later arrested at his home. The initial charges included failing to render assistance, driving at a dangerous speed, reckless conduct endangering life, destruction of evidence, perverting the course of justice, and failing to remain at the scene after a drug test. That was before the police found his video.
Pusey has a lengthy rap sheet and was on bail for assault when this altercation occurred.
The man allegedly referred to in Britain as “Richie, Rich” has now admitted to a rare charge of outraging public decency. His attorneys claim the law does not exist but the Crown is not letting this one go. On top of that, he’s still being hit with drug charges as well as other offenses.
The outraging public decency charge has no maximum penalty under Australian law and is rarely prosecuted. Prosecutors are using the 2007 case of Anthony Anderson, who was locked up for three years after urinating on a dying woman when she collapsed in a UK street, as a precedent to go after Pusey.
Mohinder Singh Bajwa was the driver of the truck that killed the officers. He allegedly experienced a “medical episode.” Bajwa is being charged with four charges of culpable driving causing death.
Pusey’s next court date is scheduled for March 31.
