The ongoing cancelling of Dr. Seuss books by the “woke” left for alleged “anti-blackness” and “white supremacy” has some wondering why Vice President Kamala Harris, a black woman, posted a tweet in celebration of the children’s book author four years ago.
In a tweet posted on March 2nd, 2017, the then-senator wrote the following: “Happy birthday, #DrSeuss! ‘The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.'”
The tweet contained no “trigger warning” for those who might take offense at her promoting the birthday of someone now known for his “racist books,” as The Washington Post has described Dr. Seuss’s collection of allegedly offensive work.
Look:
Happy birthday, #DrSeuss! “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) March 2, 2017
It seems the vice president has some explaining to do. After all, according to an “Analysis” report by The Washington Post, it’s only a “short hop” from reading and defending Dr. Seuss to “demanding that we make America great again.”
And that’s no good, according to a “Perspective” piece from the Post, because former President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement goes hand in hand with racism: “After years of earnest efforts to create a more just society, the persistence of racist groups in America — given new energy by the rise of Donald Trump — has made many people realize that more aggressive steps must be taken to counter these attitudes.”
View how some members of the public responded to Harris’s offensive tweet:
Doesn’t surprise me that a “Black” woman who grew up in well-to-do, privileged, White society would harbour racist, White Ethno ideology.

But. But…Dr Seuss is racist.

You’re a racist!!! How dare you quote Dr Seuss when your President has deemed him to be racist. Then again your family owned slaves so you were always a racist

According to a Elementary school in Virginia, Dr. Seuss is racist. If that is the case, YOU are racist (then again, your stances are just that anyway).

Don’t you know Seuss is a white supremacist!

They were being sarcastic. Why? To mock the perceived inanity of cancelling Dr. Seuss. Harris is relevant to this cancellation because her partner in crime, President Joe Biden, chose this year to end a decade-long tradition of the first family paying tribute to Dr. Seuss on Read Across America Day.
“President Biden appears to have erased Dr. Seuss from ‘Read Across America Day,’ the annual celebration of reading in honor of the legendary children’s author, whose birthday falls on March 2,” Fox News reported.
“While Biden followed presidential tradition in proclaiming Tuesday “Read Across America Day,” he bucked his predecessors by leaving out any mention of Dr. Seuss from the proclamation.”
The president clearly buys into the narrative that Dr. Seuss is racist. So why hasn’t his vice president followed along by, at the very least, deleting her prior tweet, if not also issuing a statement condemning Dr. Seuss?
One possibility is that deep down, the vice president agrees with fellow left-wingers like Joy Behar, a co-host of ABC’s “The View.” In a stunning, unexpected defense of Dr. Seuss, on Tuesday the virulently left-wing co-host said she found his cancellation “outrageous.”
“I do not like erasing art, I do not think it’s wise or smart. That is my position. I think that these books are teaching tools. These are teaching tools. If I were teaching a class now, I would bring them right into the class so that people can see what he was thinking. Do you think it’s racist? Is it racist? Is it antisemitic? Let’s discuss it,” she said.
“If you eliminate these books, if you take things away, there is no way to discuss what’s in the book. It’s not an educational motive, in my opinion. Even the movie ‘Gone with the Wind,’ which everybody thinks is so racist, which it is, and it shows slaves as if they’re all so happy, is a point for discussion.”
She concluded, “Now let’s show, let’s read the history book. Now, this is the real, this is the fictitious portrayal. I think that even elementary school children can learn from these books. I think it’s an absolute outrage to remove books, period.”
Listen:
When someone so left-wing comes out against the cancellation of something, it does raise serious questions about whether society has gone too far, no?
Another possibility for why Harris hasn’t removed her tweet and condemned Dr. Seuss is that, like every other act of hypocrisy, she’d apparently rather just ignore her faux pas and pretend like nothing ever happened.
After all, that’s the same strategy she’s used to deal with Biden reopening a detention center for illegal alien children that she’d accused of committing “human rights abuses” only two years ago.
Observe:
The Biden admin it’s reopening the same detention camp for children in Homestead @VP Harris vowed to shut down when elected.
She said “it’s a human rights abuse being committed by the U.S. gov” when speaking of the facility.

As of March, she had yet to explain herself for this.
