Geraldo Rivera appeared on Sean Hannity’s show on Monday to discuss the sexual assault and harassment claims against Governor Andrew Cuomo. He provided cover for the Democrat and seemed to excuse his alleged actions.
Rivera faced off with Dan Bongino over Cuomo and they clashed heatedly over the New York governor’s numerous scandals on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity.”
Hannity referenced the nursing home scandal where thousands of elderly died allegedly due to Cuomo’s orders to allow COVID-positive residents and patients to stay in the facilities. Then he turned to the growing number of women who are now accusing the beleaguered politician of making unwanted advances towards them as well as making sexually suggestive statements to them.
There are videos coming out that are supposedly bad news for Cuomo who had originally denied he had done anything wrong. President Biden is now in favor of investigating Cuomo and several Democrats want him to resign. There has even been talk of impeachment.

Hannity asked Rivera concerning Cuomo: “Will he make it through the week?”
“Probably. He’s a tough guy and you know, he’s in a solid position. He was in a solid position before he started getting killed with a thousand cuts here. You know, it’s rough,” Rivera stated.
Then, he pivoted to the nursing home scandal as if to deflect from the sexual harassment charges against Cuomo: “I’m glad you mentioned nursing homes. That is by far the bigger scandal… the scandal of you know, putting infected people back in nursing homes and then covering up the total death toll, to me is far more serious but it really deserves prudent reasonable in-depth investigation,” Rivera proclaimed.
He went on to claim he has empathy for the women accusing Cuomo and that their stories should be heard but seemed to be excusing the governor’s sordid behavior. Rivera also stated that none of the accusers, as far as he knows, is alleging actual sexual assault.
“I think though that Andrew Cuomo… I mean know this is the most unpopular thing in America to say right now. He’s a 63-year-old single guy living in Albany, the most boring town in America. He’s all by himself and single women come by… I’m not saying anything is appropriate. I’m saying that there’s human nature and we have to recognize that he’s not a street thug or a rapist,” justified Rivera.
Conservative pundit Dan Bongino was having none of it.
“Yeah, that’s all crap what Geraldo just said.” Bongino shot back and argued that Cuomo has put himself at the top of the morality totem pole. Over Rivera’s protestations, Bongino called Cuomo “disgusting” and a “creep” and added that he “wouldn’t even have a tequila shot with this guy.”
As the argument grew more heated, Rivera accused Bongino of fake morality. Bongino finally got a word in edgewise and informed Rivera that “the only person guilty of fake morality is Andrew Cuomo.” That was in reference to Cuomo lecturing Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh on fake sexual harassment charges when he was allegedly guilty of actual sexual harassment himself.
Confusingly, Rivera brought up Cuomo’s family and how he knows his mother and others in the family. He said he feels bad for the family and Cuomo. Bongino adamantly stated that he doesn’t feel bad for Cuomo at all and that Rivera is being played for a fool. He even called him a “sucker.” In retaliation, Rivera returned to the fake morality mantra which did not ruffle Bongino in the least.
In the end, Hannity said he was sending them back to their corners.
Turning Point USA’s Benny Johnson summed up the confrontation on Twitter: “I am legitimately shocked by this: @GeraldoRivera live on Fox News making excuses for Cuomo’s serial sexual assault/harassment by saying: ‘He’s a 63 year old, single guy, living in Albany, the most boring town in America. He’s all by himself.’ Fox News should disavow immediately.”
