Van Jones reportedly not happy with ‘unprofessional’ way he was treated on ‘The View’

Van Jones appeared on “The View” as a guest on Feb. 5 to tout the new documentary that he co-produced with Meghan McCain. He was reportedly shocked that Host Sunny Hostin pummeled him on his reactions to former President Trump and how he came across to the Black community.

Allegedly, Van Jones was less than thrilled with how he was treated on “The View.” He reportedly referred to the hosts on the show as “rude” and “unprofessional,” according to Page Six’s anonymous source.

Sunny Hostin didn’t give CNN’s Van Jones an inch concerning the implied distrust he has stirred up in the Black community against him due to his past perceived praise of Trump. Van Jones took offense to the accusation apparently.

“He felt like they were rude, and he was completely blindsided by how they questioned him. He was not happy about how the interview went. It was unprofessional,” the anonymous source stated.

Jones’ documentary is called The Reunited States. It concerns the push for unity in the country and the healing of political rifts among Americans.

“[Van] expected a friendly environment, and I don’t think Meghan even knew there was anything controversial about him. It was how they asked the questions that was off-putting. It was shocking how intolerant they were,” the anonymous source charged.

Host Sunny Hostin accused Jones of flip-flopping on his stance concerning Trump. She pointed out that Van Jones had at one point praised Trump for doing good things for the Black community and then turned around and shed tears on CNN as Biden won the election.

“There are those who really accuse you of being an opportunist, a chameleon, so to speak, who provided a racial cover for former disgraced, twice-impeached, President Trump. … People in the Black community don’t trust you anymore. What is your response?” Hostin demanded of Jones.

Van Jones defended himself by informing Hostin that her assertion “wasn’t true.” He claimed that she was taking him out of context.

“I don’t think that’s true,” Jones said. “The entire quote I said was that Trump has done a lot of good stuff he doesn’t get credit for, and I went on to say that the reason he doesn’t get credit for it is because he’s done all this horrific stuff, and it completely erases what he’s done. But what happens is, social media will take the clip, but they won’t show the full context.”

Ana Navarro joined in on the bashing and slammed Jones for his willingness to work with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. She called them, “Nepotism Barbie and Nepotism Ken.”

Another anonymous source stated that Van Jones confronted his producers and was livid over the unexpected attack: “He told them, ‘I didn’t expect to be ambushed.’”

“The View” for its part is stating that Van Jones did not approach the producers about being unhappy with the interview.

“This is nonsense. None of the producers heard from Van after his appearance. He more than held his own, and clearly you have to be ready for anything when you come to ‘The View,’” a spokesperson declared.

And yet another anonymous source told Page Six that Van Jones knew in advance what potential questions would be asked of him.

“It’s unfortunate that instead of addressing the very real distrust of him within the Black community, Van chooses to attack two women of color via social media, hiding behind the guise of ‘unity,’” the source charged. “Van is taking a page from Donald Trump’s playbook, whom he called the ‘uniter-in-chief’ in 2018. His exposure as a persona non grata in the black community is clearly jeopardizing his grift.”
