A former teacher named Ariel Robinson, who won Season 20 of the Food Network show, “Worst Cooks in America” in August 2020, was recently arrested for alleged child abuse resulting in homicide after her three-year-old foster child was found beaten to death on Jan. 14. She is also a talented and aspiring comedian who spent a lot of time on social media complaining about “white privilege” and talking about her three adopted children who are all white.
“In my house, my black children get treated the same as my white children, and my white children get treated the same as my black children. It’s a shame that when they go out into the real world, that won’t be the case,” she posted on Jan. 6 and added hashtags for “white privilege” and “Black Lives Matter.”
Robinson and her husband Jerry were both arrested for inflicting a “series of blunt force injuries” on their foster child, Victoria Rose Smith. They live in Simpsonville, South Carolina and no one saw this coming. The children were apparently well-cared for and happy. If convicted, they could get 20 years up to life in prison.
The child’s foster parents called 911 on Jan. 14 at approximately 2 p.m. and reported that the little girl was unresponsive. Allegedly, a 911 dispatcher told Ariel to move the child to the floor and begin CPR, which she said that she did. She claimed to be certified in child CPR.
When the EMTs arrived, child abuse was suspected. The Simpsonville Fire Department was first dispatched at 2:16 p.m. and they arrived on the scene three minutes later. EMS arrived at approximately 2:25 p.m. They whisked her off to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The fire department called the police department for child abuse/aggravated assault and emergency protective custody at 2:25 p.m. But by the time the police arrived, little Victoria had already been taken to the hospital.
Tiffany Huggins and her husband Cameron were the previous foster parents of the little girl for 10 months before being adopted by Robinson. “She had the best personality, and I’m not just saying that because I was her momma, but, she was just our light,” said Tiffany trying to hold back the tears.
It is not known what Ariel told the police about her daughter’s death. Her husband, Jerry Robinson, invoked his right to counsel and was transported to the Simpsonville Police Department.
Both parents were charged with homicide by child abuse around 2:20 p.m. on Jan. 19. That was five days after their adopted daughter died.
Speculation ran wild on social media after the news broke and many of Ariel’s followers were in shock.
This is horrible.

Robinson had a podcast where she openly discussed depression and revealed the fact that she had tried to commit suicide several times as a teenager.
In one podcast, Ariel Robinson said she was no longer suicidal and said she didn’t think she wanted to hurt others because she liked her “freedom.”
But she was obviously angry and bitter.
“This is the first year I’ve literally and specifically prayed to God ‘can you just let the rapture take place?’” Ariel Robinson said. “I literally hate it here. I literally hate this earth.”
She also talked about how people can “snap,” stating “everybody is one bad decision away from ruining the rest of their life.”
“If you get angry today and fly off the handle, punch somebody, kill somebody, assault, murder, you are one bad decision away from ruining the rest of your life,” she pointed out.

Ariel used to joke in one of her comic routines about threatening to punch her child in the throat while social workers visited her home during the adoption process.
The Robinsons adopted Victoria “Tori” Rose Smith and her two older brothers in December of 2019. They already had two sons.
Robinson stated in an interview that the “Worst Cooks in America”s prize money would be used to help her and her husband care for the three children they had recently adopted.
“I just know that the Lord had his hands on me, and he had a purpose for me to go on there,” Robinson said after she won. “He knew we were going through this adoption, we really could use the money, and he just let everything work out for our good.”
The Food Network has pulled the 20th season of its “Worst Cooks in America” since the arrest.
