Fox News host Brian Kilmeade seemed to have trouble picking a lane as he criticized both President Donald Trump and Democrats, following a turbulent day in the nation’s capital.
While Fox & Friends has reported favorably on Trump during his presidency, Kilmeade seemed to move in a different direction on Thursday as he reacted to the latest on the previous day’s events. And while the Fox News co-host appeared to blame the president for inciting the violence on Capitol Hill, he also took a shot at the double standards of the left.
“Let’s be honest,” Kilmeade began. “Since November 3rd, or when we got the verdict by November 5th, the president’s behavior has been terrible.”
“It has cost him two senates Seats, that we know of for sure,” he claimed, referring to the Senate runoff elections in Georgia. “It cost him his party the majority in the senate; we know that for certain.”

“We can also say this about the president of the United States: He obviously believes with every fiber of his being that he actually won this election,” Kilmeade continued.
“The problem is his legal team hasn’t had any success at all proving that, which is why Richard Nixon in the 1960s folded his tent, why Al Gore made a speech and said ‘even though I think I won, it’s time for a peaceful transition of power,” he added.
“The president didn’t do that,” Kilmeade declared.
“Instead, at 12:00, supposed to speak at 11. He gives his speech, at which time he said, march over there at 1:30,” he added, though he acknowledged that Trump’s supporters do not have a “track record” of violence, as witnessed in dozens of MAGA rallies.
“Now it’s true – his people do not have a track record of violence, absolutely true. Well, that track record broke,” Kilmeade contended.
“And even if it was infiltrated by people who don’t like him, it doesn’t matter,” he added, apparently referring to reports that members of Antifa had gotten in among the otherwise peaceful protesters. “When you send 50, 60, 70, 80,000 people into the Capitol, which is guarded by a handful of cops and 350 national guards, Guess what? They are going to get in.”
In a fiery speech from the House floor Wednesday night, U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz defended the president and also cited a report in The Washington Times about a facial-recognition company that matched demonstrators with anti-fascist group members.
“I don’t know if the reports are true, but The Washington Times has just reported some pretty compelling evidence from a facial-recognition company showing that some of the people who breached the Capitol today were not Trump supporters. They were masquerading as Trump supporters. And in fact, they were members of the violent terrorist group, Antifa,” Gaetz told his colleagues.

Meanwhile, Kilmeade continued his finger-pointing at the president, suggesting he had “gone over the top” and had lost the support of some of his staunchest allies, such as Sen. Lindsey Graham who said Wednesday that “enough is enough.”
Kilmeade also thought the president had been “justifiably suspended” on his Twitter account. The social media platform removed Trump’s video message calling for peace and addressing the violence in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, claiming there were concerns that it would incite more violence.
Kilmeade then turned his attention in a different direction.
“For those people that are condemning this violence, I ask you where are you for 200-plus days in Portland? Where were you in Oregon…as the CHOP zone took root?” the Fox News co-host asked.
“Where were you in New York City when you said “hey, people have to blow off steam,’ as well as Illinois and countless other places? Don’t suddenly become law and order,” he added.
Kilmeade also shared that he “thought Joe Biden’s comments were perfect and have been very strong since he won the election.”
Co-host Steve Doocy chimed in to agree that Biden on Wednesday was “very presidential” while criticizing Trump for tweeting his call for peace, instead of making a live appeal from the White House briefing room.
Kilmeade’s turnaround was not lost on Twitter users who called him out for his commentary.
