Meghan McCain’s return to “The View” after a few months off for maternity leave launched her right back into the crossfire with co-host Joy Behar.

The two women locked horns once again during Tuesday’s edition of the ABC talk show, as a discussion about the political parties quickly went off the rails. Things escalated to the point that Behar declared she had not even missed her co-host while she had been gone.

“I was posing the question as to whether we think there should be more than two parties, Democrats or Republicans. Because you have conservatives and then you have the Trumpians. And to me, you also then have extremists,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg was telling the virtual panel.

“So, is it time for us to start really slicing this up?” she asked.

“Let the Republicans fight amongst themselves,” Behar replied. “On the one hand, you have the Republicans, on the other you have the seditionists. That’s the fight that’s going on in the Republican party right now. In the Democratic party, you have the progressives versus the moderates, which is … what it always is. It’s typical politics. The Republican Party is in much more trouble right now.”

“Are you kidding me?!” McCain interjected.

“Excuse me!” Behar responded. “I’m not done!”

“It’s just, that’s completely inaccurate,” McCain shot back.

“You have AOC fighting right now about whether she’s going to end up primary-ing Chuck Schumer. Coming out, not saying she has the full support of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer,” she added, referring to New York Democatic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

“You have the Squad that’s coming out very intensely, very angry that Biden hasn’t filled out his Cabinet with more progressives. Bernie Sanders also coming out saying he’s angry. The idea that there isn’t fighting within the Democratic party as well—” McCain continued before Behar jumped in.

“Excuse me! I was speaking!” the 78-year-old continued. “I was talking!”

“You missed me so much, Joy!” McCain joked. “You missed me so much when I was on maternity leave! You missed fighting with me.”

But Behar was fired up.

“I did not,” she said, emphasizing by shaking her head. “I did not miss you. Zero.”

McCain was taken aback by the reaction, laughing before responding with frustration.

“Oh my God!” the daughter of the late GOP Sen. John McCain said. “You know what, that’s so nasty! That’s so nasty! I was teasing because you said something rude. Like, really?”

“Okay. Guys, guys, hold on,” Goldberg interjected, trying to restore order.

“That’s so rude!” McCain reiterated.

“Everybody stop,” Goldberg said authoritatively.

“This is not the way to do it,” she added, as she moved the conversation past the two combatants.
