The January 20th inauguration parade to celebrate Joe Biden and Kamala Harris being sworn into office has reportedly been canceled.
Participants set to take part in the event were informed that the traditional parade would no longer be taking place according to a U.S. Army email obtained by Jon Nicosia of News Cycle Media. The Presidential Inauguration Committee reportedly gave “definitive guidance” on the matter on Saturday, according to the email.
“Although it is not in an official order format, they have approved the following to be disseminated in a limited manner. A formal order will be sent out through NORTHCOM and Joint Staff today but with the Holiday they understand that the guidance may not reach everyone until later next week,” the email, obtained by Mediaite, reportedly read.
“The Inaugural Parade has been canceled. The Active, National Guard, Reserve, and Academy marching requirements have been deleted and are no longer needed,” the email stated, without specifying any particular reasons for the cancellation.

NBC News correspondent Kelly O’Donnell shared a video over the weekend of the parade-review stand outside of the White House being dismantled, citing concerns over COVID-19 as the reason for the cancellation.
“Here’s a look at more construction work outside WH north fence where crews are taking down what’s left of a just-built parade review stand that would have been used for Inaugural but canceled due to covid,” she tweeted on Saturday.

Biden’s inaugural committee urged Americans in December “to refrain from any travel” and to enjoy inaugural activities “from home.”
“The ceremony’s footprint will be extremely limited, and the parade that follows will be reimagined,” the PIC said. “The PIC is urging the public to refrain from any travel and participate in the inaugural activities from home.”

“Our goal is to create an inauguration that keeps people safe, honors the grand traditions of the Presidency, and showcases the Biden-Harris Administration’s renewed American vision for an inclusive, equitable, and unified citizenry,” PIC CEO Tony Allen said in the press release at the time.
Organizers announced Sunday that Biden’s inauguration will include a “virtual parade across America.”

The virtual parade will reportedly “celebrate America’s heroes, highlight Americans from all walks of life in different states and regions, and reflect on the diversity, heritage, and resilience of the country as we begin a new American era.”
This year, we’re bringing the inaugural parade to YOU at home! 🎉

Following the swearing-in ceremony on January 20, Biden will “receive a traditional presidential escort with representatives from every branch of the military from 15th Street in Washington to the White House,” the Associated Press reported, adding that this will be “socially distanced” while “providing the American people and world with historic images of the President-elect proceeding to the White House without attracting large crowds.”
Reports of the canceled inaugural parade sparked lively reactions on Twitter where many had thoughts about the turn of events.
We all know the real reason Joe Biden’s inaugural parade was canceled😅 but anyone know what the official excuse is?

They’re afraid it’ll turn into a MAGA parade. Like all of Biden’s rallies turned into MAGA rallies. https://t.co/Et7DRNnJI3

I’m hearing rumors the Biden inauguration parade was cancelled.
That’s a real bummer for the 10 people that planned to go but will now have to cancel their trips.

Damn! The Biden team has canceled his inaugural parade. All us supporters were planning on carpooling there in my Smart Car, too. 😭
Even made plans to take a few days off from the jobs we’ve never had.

Biden didn’t get 80 million votes…he can’t even get enough people to have a parade!

They could have it in #illegitimateJoe’s basement. It could host all who wanted to attend and still have room to spare.

The Biden inaugural parade has been cancelled claiming it is due to COVID.
We’ve been aware of COVID for over a year.
It apparently wasn’t a concern when they thought the Steal was secure.
And don’t forget Kameltoe Harris STILL Has not resigned her Senate seat.
They are afraid.— Patriot_1952 (@Patriot_1952) January 4, 2021
