Geraldo Rivera unloaded on the “spoiled brats” supporting President Donald Trump’s ongoing challenge of the election results.
The Fox News correspondent-at-large may claim to be a friend of the president’s, but Trump’ reported silent treatment may be extended after Rivera’s video rant against the “lunatic fringe” that supports him. In a message posted on Twitter, Rivera vented about the “fringe characters” the president surrounds himself with and bluntly declared that Trump lost the election.
Rivera was reacting to comments from the head of the Arizona Republican Party, Kelli Ward, backing Trump and declaring “we are with you.” In the video posted on Sunday, he seemed most disturbed by Ward’s use of a hashtag calling on Trump to “cross the Rubicon.”
“We are working every avenue to stop this coup & to stop our Republic from crumbing. Patriots are united. Those who are against us are exposing themselves,” Ward tweeted.
Mr. President @realDonaldTrump – we are with you in #Arizona. We are working every avenue to stop this coup & to stop our Republic from crumbing. Patriots are united. Those who are against us are exposing themselves. #Liberty & #freedom are on the line. #CrossTheRubicon @GenFlynn pic.twitter.com/wbzjqkQJv7

“’Cross the Rubicon?’ Are you sh–ting me?” Rivera asked in the caption to his video message.
“Time to stop playing around with the Constitution. Biden won. Trump lost. Stop acting like spoiled brats. Or worse, the lunatic fringe. Enough. Basta,” he added.

Rivera prefaced his comments on Ward and others with a reminder of his criticism of former Florida Congressman, and current head of the Texas Republican Party, Allen West, who seemed to float the idea of secession after the Supreme Court refused to hear a case challenging election results.
“I thought, frankly, that Allen West was sounding crazy,” Rivera said in his two-minute video shot outdoors.
He went to say that Ward is “now saying basically the same thing” and is waiting for Trump “to cross the Rubicon.” He briefly explained “crude reference” to the historical phrase which refers to Julius Caesar crossing the Rubicon river in 49 BC and setting off the Roman Civil War.
“This is absolutely lunatic fringe stuff,” Rivera said.
“And the president, in encouraging it and, moreover, surrounding himself with some of these fringe characters,” he continued, calling out former national security adviser Gen. Michael Flynn for being “one of the ones leading the president down this path, this crazy path.”
Flynn, who was pardoned by Trump last month, retweeted Ward, writing: “.@kelliwardaz has a great feel for the people of Arizona and America. She continues to #FightForTrump With courage and conviction.”
“Donald Trump lost the election. Joe Biden won the damn election. Now let’s just move on from there and stop this ridiculous nonsense that makes everyone look half-baked,” he concluded.
Rivera locked horns with Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk earlier this month, berating him for insisting Americans still have “very good questions” about the presidential election. He called out the conservative commentator for being “dishonest” in claiming that there are “still plenty of pending legal challenges.”
“It is over. I want the president, my friend, the current president, the 45th president to understand it is over. The Electoral College has voted,” Rivera said, also pointing out that Trump isn’t speaking to him right now “because of my position on the election being over.”
He announced over the weekend that he had lost “about 3000 Twitter followers since editorializing for peaceful, traditional, gracious transition from losing incumbent, my friend,” referring to Trump.

Sad to see them go, but Country first. One nation indivisible. The rest is politics.— Geraldo Rivera (@GeraldoRivera) December 19, 2020
Rivera’s attack on Trump supporters and those standing with the president to expose the problesm with the November election earned him a swift takedown on social media.
I see you’ve abandoned all sense of journalistic curiosity in your later years, you know, the curiosity that uncovered all those atrocities at Willowbrook. A real journalist would dig in to all this election fraud. It’s the Crime of the Century.
