New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio “bluntly” let the truth out of the bag about how the redistribution of wealth is the government’s “mission” in education.
The Democrat openly spouted the views of Karl Marx during a press briefing Friday along with Richard Carranza, the Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education. Announcing major admission changes for certain middle and high schools, de Blasio addressed “systemic racism” in education and elsewhere as he targeted income inequalities, openly announcing a need to “redistribute wealth” in the city.
The far-left mayor’s truth-bomb raised plenty of eyebrows as he made no pretense about the ultimate goal of his administration. He began his briefing with remarks about a recent investigation into the violent protests over the summer.
De Blasio spoke about the report on the findings, which concluded that the New York Police Department “made a number of key errors that likely escalated tensions and a potential for violence,” before going on to address the need for changes.

“The COVID era has taught us that so clearly, and we need to do better and we will,” de Blasio said.
“And that means a commitment to fighting disparities and inequality in every part of the life of New York City and that certainly takes us to education where if you’re talking about the problems of disparity, if you’re talking about structural racism, certainly policing is not the only area to talk about. There are many areas to talk about and education must be front and center,” he continued.
“There has been so much that needed to be addressed in education in New York City, and from the beginning, what I tried to focus on was a very simple concept: equity and excellence,” de Blasio said. “That we needed to profoundly change the distribution of resources.”
And if viewers of the briefing were not sure they were hearing correctly, the Democrat emphasized his point in no uncertain terms.
“I like to say very bluntly, our mission is to redistribute wealth,” the mayor declared. “A lot of people bristle at that phrase, that is, in fact, the phrase we need to use.”
He went on to argue that the city’s government needs to “more equitably redistribute resources” throughout the school system, noting the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on education. De Blasio explained that his office would focus on closing the “COVID achievement gap,” referring to the technology challenges faced by some students participating in distance learning.
But rather than open up the schools to educate children in person again, de Blasio spouted off about his plans to change admissions in selective schools in order to address segregation issues.
“That means Pre-K for all, 3-K for all, advanced placement courses in every high school including those that never had a single one, it means changing school funding formulas, there are so many things that we’ve tried to do to profoundly balance the equation,” he said in the Friday briefing.
“We will not go back to the status quo,” de Blasio said.
The mayor’s shameless far-left plans and remarks drew quick criticism.
“The mask is coming off, ladies and gentlemen. Prepare for the fight ahead…,” radio show host and former NYPD officer Dan Bongino tweeted.
