Fox News host Harris Faulkner revisited the reports by many media outlets that bashed President Donald Trump’s prediction of a coronavirus vaccine being available by the end of 2020.
After beginning Monday’s Outnumbered program by noting it was a “historic” day in the battle against the deadly pandemic, Faulkner ripped media outlets who hated the president so much they repeatedly cast doubt on his seemingly impossible goal of getting out a vaccine before the end of the year.
Faulkner noted it was “a historic day in the fight against coronavirus” on Monday, reporting on the “most ambitious vaccination effort in our nation’s history.”
As the death toll from the virus across the nation nears 300,000, a critical care nurse in New York became the first person in the U.S. to be given the COVID-19 vaccine. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued the first emergency-use authorization for the vaccine last week, saying it had “met the statutory criteria” and cleared the way for millions of Americans to receive it.

The Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine began shipping out on Sunday and Faulkner reminded viewers that it was only a few months ago when Trump announced Operation Warp Speed to fast-track the development and distribution of a vaccine.
“Seven months after the Trump administration launched its Operation Warp Speed fast-track vaccine effort, President Trump talking about the victory over the weekend,” Faulkner said as she played a video clip of the president speaking about his accomplishment with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade on Saturday.
“If I wasn’t president, according to almost everybody, even the enemy, if I wasn’t president, you wouldn’t have a vaccine for five years,” Trump said in the Fox & Friends Weekend interview that aired Sunday.
“I pushed the FDA and companies and everybody else involved like nobody has ever been pushed before, and now you have it rolling out,” he added.
“In fact, let’s visit that for a moment,” Faulkner said.
“You will recall much of the media cast doubt, heavy doubt on the president’s claim that a vaccine could come before year’s end,” she noted, reading off a few examples.
“NBC News fact-checked him back in May when Operation Warp Speed launched,” Faulkner said, reading a quote stating that, “experts said he would need a miracle.”
An NPR headline in September read: “Contradicting The CDC, Trump Says COVID-19 Vaccine Could Be Ready By End Of Year.”
In late October, CNBC declared: “President Trump says Covid-19 vaccine will be coming by the end of the year, despite contrary evidence.”
“Dr. Fauci has publicly explained in front of Trump three times now that it will take a year or more to develop a Coronavirus vaccine,” CNN’s Jim Acosta claimed back in March.

The Media Research Center shared a damning video “flashback” on its NewsBusters Twitter page.
“The media said that getting a COVID-19 vaccine before the end of the year was ‘happy talk’ and would take a ‘miracle,” the caption read. “Turns out they were wrong. Again.”

Even Dr. Anthony Fauci had to admit on MSNBC that it was “a historic day to get the vaccine into the arms of people at a timeframe that is really unprecedented.”

With the vaccine beginning to roll out across the nation this week, Trump tweeted a celebratory message on Monday.

But while the nation has plenty to celebrate with that news, and Trump has plenty to be proud of, the “experts” never had any faith in him and media outlets disregarded Americans in their relentless assault on the president.
