The familiar refrain heard after the 2016 presidential election was “Russia, Russia, Russia,” but it’s becoming more and more clear that Vladimir Putin will take a back seat to the Chinese Communist Party following the 2020 election.
Putting Joe Biden and his family aside, though, it’s equally clear that China presents the greatest threat to United States interests, and that Beijing is very active in taking advantage of opportunities that present themselves, which includes using attractive female spies to corner Democratic politicians like Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., in honey traps.
But those opportunities are not limited to the continental U.S., as leaked CCP records show that Party operatives were in place at ten consulates in Shanghai, according to The Australian.
Beijing used a recruitment agency to infiltrate British, Australian, and U.S. consulates in Shanghai, the newspaper reported, positioning CCP members in senior, specialist, and advisory positions — which calls to mind Rep. Swalwell’s honey pot placing an intern in his office.

Leaked membership records contained details on 1.95 million CCP members, and showed that some were employed by British, German, Swiss, Indian, New Zealand, Italian, and South African missions in the city and through the Shanghai Foreign Agency Service Department — the database showed that the SFASD has at least 12 active CCP branches with 249 members.
The data was originally extracted from a server on April 16, 2016, and the infiltration included global companies like Boeing and Pfizer — and American universities.
More from The Australian:
Foreign affairs experts warn the employment of CCP members in the consulates, some for up to 16 years, could be part of a “state-sponsored spy ring”, while intelligence officers labelled it a breach of protocol and a risk to national security.
The database has also revealed CCP members working in global companies such as Boeing — which has billions of dollars in defence contracts — inside Pfizer and AstraZeneca, pharmaceutical companies which are developing coronavirus vaccines, and at Western universities.
An intelligence operation to collect scientific research in fields such as biomedicine and artificial intelligence was uncovered by the U.S. government, according to Fox News.
Pledging to crack down on China, the Trump administration and Justice Department said in November that around 80% of all economic espionage prosecutions brought by the DOJ “allege conduct that would benefit the Chinese state,” and that “there is at least some nexus to China in around 60% of all trade secret theft cases,” the network reported.
Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf announced in September more than 1,000 visas revoked, held mostly by graduate students and researchers, after federal charges were brought against students at prestigious colleges like Harvard University, Boston University, Emory University, and the University of California San Francisco.
Efforts are likely to become far less of a priority under a potential Biden administration.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
@RollsRoyce @HSBC @StanChart @AstraZeneca – we need answers from these companies on how they can operate independent from #ccp influence with so many #ccp members working inside. #ccp spies are everywhere and we have to identify and eradicate them. pic.twitter.com/qSyQYrzU1f

I hope this wakes the world up to what China’s neighbors in south east asia already know. China is expansionist. They are control freaks who know nothing about diplomacy so they have to invade for their goals. And if they can’t invade openly they’d invade from within.

The deep penetration of CCP members is actually an act of war to some extent. This may only account for a small part of it, and there are more parts we don’t know😖

CCP members are always the privileged class who can study and work in foreign countries. Not surprising on this fact but just surprising for the western world to take so many years to realise that. Businesses should stay alert on Chinese who are taking high rank positions now.
