Left-wing Hollywood actor Ben Stiller desperately needed an education on the realities of New York Gov Andrew Cuomo’s “reign of terror,” so Fox News’ Janice Dean gave him one.
The lesson plan began with Dean posting a tweet Saturday morning slamming Stiller and fellow Hollywood celebrities Robert DeNiro, Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie Perez and Henry Winkler for holding a virtual birthday party for Cuomo.
“Restaurants closing, kids out of school, families losing loved ones and livelihoods but @NYGovCuomo is going to celebrate his birthday with his celebrity friends and raise thousands of dollars for himself,” Dean wrote.
She added, “Shame on @WhoopiGoldberg @RedHourBen @rosieperezbklyn @hwinkler4real.”

If I were @NYGovCuomo or any of his celebrity buddies I’d be cancelling this event or instead giving all the money to Covid or restaurant relief in New York.
— Janice Dean (@JaniceDean) December 12, 2020
PS for all of you defenders saying “but but it’s virtual!” the point was NOT about the event itself. It’s that @NYGovCuomo continues to raise money for himself while others are struggling to provide for their families.

Stiller did not take kindly to being called out and chose to respond with whataboutism.
“Nothing wrong with supporting a politician. As you know the current president has been soliciting hundreds of millions to overturn the election, not for COVID relief. You wrote a book about spreading sunshine apparently.. You don’t like the Governor. I do. Don’t be divisive. Bye,” he wrote back in a since-deleted tweet.
View a screenshot of it below:
What Stiller clearly didn’t know is that Dean’s parents-in-law died because of the policies of the very governor whom he so staunchly supports.
Speaking on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” last May, she described how both of her in-laws had died from the coronavirus while housed in New York’s nursing homes.

“Twenty percent of our lost loved ones are from nursing homes, and it’s because Gov. Cuomo and several other governors, by the way, in different states forced COVID-recovering patients into nursing homes,” she said at the time.
Stiller also clearly didn’t know that Dean’s book, “Mostly Sunny: How I Learned to Keep Smiling Through the Rainiest Days,” is about her struggle with multiple sclerosis.
Now view the reply she posted to Stiller’s tweet:
Nothing wrong with criticizing a politician who likes to profit off the deaths of New Yorkers. (He wrote a book too about “leadership” during a pandemic) You’re right, I don’t like the governor because his policies help kill my husbands parents. Enjoy your fundraiser. https://t.co/fmdZEGrBM9

After reading Dean’s response, Stiller deleted his original tweet like a good student and quickly began backtracking and apologizing – also like a good student.
And fortunately for the left-wing actor, he was dealing with an equally good teacher.
Look:
I’m sorry for your loss. I’m not into coming down on people. You called me out. We all are dealing with this and I believe we need to be less divisive. All the best.
— Ben Stiller (@RedHourBen) December 12, 2020
Just deleted my tweet.

It seems as though it’s ok for you to criticize Trump (and those who support him) and for me to not criticize a man (and those who support him) who’s bad decisions lead to the deaths of thousands of seniors. I am sorry for your loss as well and all the best to you.
— Janice Dean (@JaniceDean) December 12, 2020
I apologize for being ignorant of your circumstance. I would not have replied to your tweet if I did. I Wish you and your family all the best in this very hard time.
— Ben Stiller (@RedHourBen) December 13, 2020
Apology accepted. I appreciate your reply and the kindness that came with it.
— Janice Dean (@JaniceDean) December 13, 2020
While his apology was appreciated, it’s still not clear though that he genuinely understands the gravity of the situation.
Besides seeing their elderly parents or grandparents die in nursing homes, Americans have also seen their businesses be destroyed and their lives be turned upside down because of the refusal by mainly Democrat governors like Cuomo to acknowledge the actual science.
Governors like Cuomo have in effect presided over a veritable “reign of terror”:
As a person who loves NY I feel sick watching Cuomo destroy this great state. I will not comply with his madness, I will support businesses that revolt! Sadly, I will one day leave this state and watch others leave-many of them business owners. Cuomo’s reign of terror must end!
— NATURAL IMMUNITY (@forcedanarchy) August 1, 2020
@NYGovCuomo can’t understand the harm he is doing, he can’t understand that people are fleeing NY state because they fear him more than COVID-19. Those who want to end Cuomo’s reign of terror confront him publicly in interviews, call him to task because he will snap live on air. https://t.co/q0vJbJBkZt
— NATURAL IMMUNITY (@forcedanarchy) November 26, 2020
Yet the victims of his terror have had to watch as Hollywood has repeatedly showered their abuser:

As of Sunday, it wasn’t clear whether Cuomo birthday bash was still on …
