Sidney Powell says she had sent an affidavit to Tucker, but found his response ‘insulting, demanding and rude’

Attorney Sidney Powell called out Fox News host Tucker Carlson as “insulting, demanding and rude” after his on-air criticism.

Speaking by phone with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on Friday, the Trump campaign lawyer disputed a claim by Carlson that she became angry at his show for requesting proof of the Trump legal team’s allegations about election fraud. Powell recounted the behind-the-scenes discussions as she reacted to Carlson’s negative take to Thursday’s press conference.

Appearing with Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, Powell delivered a stunning series of allegations about Dominion Voting Systems, the company supplying the machines and software used in several U.S. states for the 2020 election. Powell cited foreign corruption that helped taint the results in favor of Democratic nominee Joe Biden and vowed that Trump would be vindicated.

Along with the usual collection of liberal media talking heads who no one expected would give an unbiased report, many Fox News personalities joined the bandwagon of casting doubts on the credibility of the claims. Reporters Geraldo Rivera and Kristin Fisher as well as host Dana Perino seemed to call the accusations into question, as did Carlson.

Bartiromo asked Powell about remarks made Thursday by the “Tucker Carlson Tonight” host as he claimed, “she never sent us any evidence” to back the allegations despite many “polite” requests.

“When we kept pressing, she got angry and told us to stop contacting her. When we checked with others around the Trump campaign, people with positions of authority, they told us Powell has never given them any evidence of either, nor has she provided any today at the press conference,” the prime time host had said.

“How do you respond to Tucker Carlson? Did you get angry with the show because they texted you and asked you to please provide evidence of what you’re alleging?” Bartiromo asked on “Mornings with Maria” Friday.

“No, I didn’t get angry with the request to provide evidence,” Powell replied.

“In fact, I sent an affidavit to Tucker that I had not even attached to a pleading yet to help him understand the situation, and I offered him another witness who could explain the mathematics and the statistical evidence far better than I can. I’m not really a numbers person,” the former federal prosecutor explained.

“He was very insulting, demanding and rude, and I told him not to contact me again, in those terms,” Powell told the Fox Business anchor.

Carlson had told viewers that Powell’s claims amount to “the single greatest crime in American history,” and his show reached out to her following her comments over the weekend.

“We invited Sidney Powell on this show, we would’ve given her the whole hour, we would’ve given her the entire week and listen quietly the whole time at rapt attention — that is a big story,” he said Thursday. “But she never sent us any evidence despite a lot of requests, polite requests, not a page.”

Powell essentially told Carlson and the rest of the doubting media to conduct their own investigations, according to Washington Examiner reporter Anthony Leonardi.

When asked by Bartiromo about being able to prove the many stunning allegations, Powell explained that more evidence is forthcoming and that she is “getting information through a fire hose.”

“We can’t even keep up with the witnesses that are calling in and wanting to give affidavits and provide evidence,” she said. “We shouldn’t be in this position and here we are, a few — a handful of civil lawyers trying to do the work of a massive government institution in the biggest worldwide corruption fraud ever exposed.”

Viewers applauded Powell and again defended her against Carlson and others who derided and criticized the press conference.
