Conservative activist Candace Owens denounced former President Barack Obama for the “unfathomable” and “backwards” suggestion that Trump’s presidency was the result of racism in America.
The author and commentator called out Obama as the first president who left the White House “hating America” in an interview with “Fox & Friends” Friday, reacting to Obama’s insulting blame-game in the soon-to-be-released memoir, “A Promised Land.”
The former stoked racial tensions, claiming that the rise of President Donald Trump was the result of Americans being “spooked” by having a black man as president and claimed that the “jury’s still out” on whether we “can actually live up to the meaning of our creed.”
‘It was as if my very presence in the White House had triggered a deep-seated panic, a sense that the natural order had been disrupted. For millions of Americans spooked by a black man in the White House, Donald Trump promised an elixir for their racial anxiety,” Obama wrote.

“This is so unfathomable and so backwards and so wrong,” Owens reacted.
“With these remarks, I think Barack Obama is making history in the wrong kind of way. He will be the first president in the history of America that ever left office and held such hatred and hostility for the country and the people that gave him everything,” she added.
“To say that people were spooked, if people were spooked and people were feeling racist or feeling like white supremacists, he would have never stepped foot into the White House. And he understood this when he ran,” the Blackout author continued.
“I remember there was an incredible interview that then-senator Barack Obama gave where he was asked, ‘If you don’t become president of the United States, do you think it’s because America is not ready for a black president?’ And rather than take the bait,” Owens recounted, “he said something incredible. He said, ‘No. I believe in this country. If I don’t become the president of the United States, it’s because I haven’t painted a vision that Americans felt that they could step inside of.’”
“Where is that former senator? Where is that Senator Barack Obama who understands that it’s actually his fault? It’s the mistakes that he made that turned the American people that elected him against him,” Owens said, pointing out that he “won because white Americans voted for him, because white Americans believed in him.”
“And by the end of his term, those same Americans no longer believed in him, and that includes me. I believed in Barack Obama in 2008. I no longer believe in him and what he has become anymore,” Owens declared.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem also slammed the “ridiculous message” from the former president’s forthcoming memoir, giving him a reality check on Twitter Thursday about his own administration and the mess he left for his successor.

“America is not a racist country,” Owens told the “Fox & Friends” hosts, contending that this country gave Obama “everything he has” and he should “show some respect and show some dignity.”
The Blexit founder also questioned what Obama and Democrats believe the long-term strategy is of the narrative.
“Are they just going to keep saying this every time something happens? Donald J. Trump gained 10 million voters since 2016. Did 10 million more people become racist since 2016? Did 10 million more people, including black people, doubled his support amongst black women, received 18 percent of black male support, are now black people becoming racists and white supremacists and deplorables too?” she asked.
“They really should pivot on this strategy because they’re losing the American people. This is not a winning message for Democrats,” Owens concluded.
On Thursday evening, Owens slammed the “absolutely despicable” claim of racism by Obama while appearing on Fox News’ “Hannity.”
She spoke of Obama’s historic election victory in 2008 and the now-lost “kinetic energy” of his campaign.

“It felt like we finally had arrived at a place in this country where we could put the past in the past,” she said. “Barack Obama became the president of the United States because White Americans supported him. And rather than show some unity, rather than show some respect for this country that gave him literally everything he has, he turns his back … and says, ‘Look at this despicable country. It’s broken.’”
“Do you think that [Democrats] could have the humility to pause for a second and say, ‘You know what? Maybe it’s not because every single person in America is a racist,’” Owens added. “People are standing behind Donald J. Trump because he is an effective and good leader who tells the truth and doesn’t … run on identity politics.”
