CNN’s Brian Stelter once again displayed a stunning lack of self-awareness in a rant about Trump supporters and partisan “bubbles” and “echo chambers.”

Stelter made his comments while speaking about the relationship of President Trump and his supporters with Fox News, which has taken a beating after prematurely calling election results and accepting Democratic nominee Joe Biden as the 2020 winner, even as votes were still being counted.

Stelter told “CNN Right Now” guest host Pamela Brown on Thursday that “Trump and some of his fans are lashing out” at Fox News on social media.

“It’s always been a marriage of convenience. Certainly, both sides are saying hurtful words now, but it is still a marriage. Trump may be threatening to see other people, but it is still a marriage,” Stelter added, noting the backlash the network has received.

“You’re tracking other right-wing media outlets. What patterns are you seeing among his voters?” Brown asked.

“There are these smaller right-wing channels like Newsmax and One America News that are further to the right than Fox News and Trump is promoting those channels now,” Stelter replied, saying there’s “clearly an audience for a channel that’s so far right they deny Biden is the president-elect, that they promote voter fraud innuendo all day long, so some Fox fans are going off to other channels instead.”

He then highlighted what he felt is the “concerning trend line.”

“People are going more and more into their own echo chambers. More into their own bubbles, especially Trump voters,” he told Brown, explaining the rise of the social media platform Parler which is attracting more conservatives who are abandoning Twitter following repeated censorship and biased restrictions.

“Because conservatives are saying, they’re saying they’re leaving Twitter and Facebook going to Parler because they believe Parler is a safer space for them. What we’re seeing is more bunker mentality in right-wing media,” Stelter claimed. “Ultimately that’s not good for the country.”

Brown agreed with his ridiculous take.

“No, it is not good,” she concluded, adding with a straight face that it is “a threat to democracy that these people are in echo chambers, and they’re being fed a diet of lies essentially.”

Apparently, Stelter’s own network is innocent of “echo chamber” programs presented as news, as Twitter users pointed out. And his fears about the “bubbles,” as fed-up conservatives and Trump supporters say goodbye to left-wing platforms like Twitter, just drove home his lack of self-awareness.
