Fox News anchor Sandra Smith held former White House official Anthony Scaramucci’s feet to the fire on his hypocritical support of Joe Biden.
The former White House communications director, who is predicting the Democratic presidential nominee will score a “landslide” election victory on Tuesday, locked horns with Smith on Monday as she confronted him on being a “big finance guy” who supports Biden’s economic policies.
“How does Anthony Scaramucci support raising the corporate tax?” Smith asked on “America’s Newsroom” as soon as the segment began, reminding her guest that they “spent a lot of the election cycle back in 2016 together.”
“Anthony Scaramucci supports patriotism and the institutions of our democracy, and the rule of law in the country, and not trying to subvert that,” the Wall Street player replied.

“I also support science, and not fictitious things, or politicizing the use of masks, or trying to fire somebody inside the federal government that’s been there for 36 years that’s trying to protect the American people,” Scaramucci, who spent less than two weeks as Trump’s communications director in the White House back in 2017, added.
“You and I have a past of talking about the economy and you supported Donald Trump in 2016. You made very clear that a reason people should vote for Donald Trump was his view on corporate taxes,” Smith reminded him, cutting him off as he continued to not answer the question directly.
“Okay, it’s your show,” he quipped as Smith went on with her question about why he is supporting Biden.
“Well, of course I’m supporting that because we have to remove Mr. Trump so that we can save the country from the pandemic. You cannot cure the economic ills of the country if you let the virus rage in 47 states. So we’re going to work on the virus and then we’re going to work on the economy,” Scaramucci said, adding that Biden has a “90 percent chance of winning.”
“The consensus is that he’s going to be way better for the economy. Don’t go by me,” he said, telling Smith to go by the studies.
Citing criticism of the Biden economic plan by the Wall Street Journal editorial board, Smith pressed her guest again.
“Anthony, I ask you this because you’re a big finance guy,” she said.
“Sandra, the market is telling you something, OK?” Scaramucci responded. “The market is rallying off the [predictions of a] Biden victory. The market recognizes that we have to heal the country. The president has made us weaker, sicker and poorer as a nation. Okay?”
The two continued to spar over the issue, with Scaramucci repeatedly evading Smith’s questions as she reminded him again of his previous stance.
“You were so passionate about that being such a central focus of the Trump campaign and this time around you are supporting a candidate that is talking about raising that corporate tax rate by more than 10 percent and raising taxes on anybody making over $400,000,” the Fox News host noted as Scaramucci seemed more irritated.
“You’re not letting me talk,” he said. “You brought me on here to be a crash dummy.”
The fiery segment continued as he accused Smith of not letting him speak while she pointed out how out of touch he is on the economy. He claimed that “really smart people” change their minds after seeing the “wreckage” that Trump has wrought on the country in his four years in office, essentially blaming him for the coronavirus pandemic as well.
“I am telling people to vote for the institutions of our democracy. The president had four years. He has blown the economy, he has made us sicker, he is trying to destroy the western post World War II alliance. Look at the four year track record,” he said.
“It’s a very simple thing,” Scaramucci added as Smith pointed out how he sidestepped her direct questions about Biden. “Heal the people, rebuild the economy, extra stimulus, 7.5 million jobs more than the Trump plan.”
“You made your money,” Smith said. “It’s easy for you to say that, right?”
“What are you talking about, Sandra?” Scaramucci snapped. “Come on. I made my money? I made my money starting from nothing, Sandra. I want to help the people that have nothing, have something.”
“The economy is the number one issue for a lot of Americans, the Fox News host reminded him as the segment ended.
