A new undercover video from Project Veritas exposed how Google allegedly suppresses opposing political views through its advertising sales division.

A Project Veritas journalist with a hidden camera captured conversation with a Google advertising account executive who revealed how the technology giant can effectively censor conservatives and stop “right-wing parties from advertising.” The new video was released by the undercover investigative organization on Tuesday.

“You can offer free credits, free advertising credits, to Democratic parties for advertising,” Adriano Amaduzzi, a technical account manager at Google Marketing, said as he spoke with Christian Hartsock who was undercover for Project Veritas.

“You can, potentially–censor out news from your search engine,” he added, noting how Google’s Trust and Safety team can essentially suppress Republicans, adding that they can stop “ultra far-right parties” from advertising.

“Hate speech with the right, anything in regards to hate speech, you cannot advertise,” Amaduzzi said.

“On YouTube side they block videos that contain hate speech. You’re near 80 percent of videos uploaded has been, have been blocked, in total that contain hate speech,” he added. “It will never be 100 percent…”

James O’Keefe, founder of Project Veritas, noted that Amaduzzi “seems to link hate speech and conservative voices as one and the same.”

The executive in Google’s overseas advertising sales division further elaborated in the secret video how U.S. elections can be affected by the tech giant’s ability to block “right-wing parties” from advertising.

“How do they determine hate speech, though? Like, it’s not really a concrete definition,” the undercover journalist asked.

“It’s human reviewed, right, by Trust and Safety,” Amaduzzi explained.

“So Trust and safety sets their own standards for hate speech,” the journalist asked, as the Google executive agreed.

Noting how the majority of Google’s Trust and Safety staffers are “extreme left,” the question was then asked, “could they or would they get involved with our 2020 election?”

“Yeah, by stopping presi–, or actually stopping right-wing parties from advertising,” Amaduzzi said. “Or reducing the exposure of their ads.”

When pressed, the executive noted that it was not him personally who would do that work and also that it was not likely to be conservative companies that would be targeted, but “parties.” Amaduzzi told the Project Veritas journalist in another segment of the video about how he once ignored a request to place pro-Brexit advertisements on Google and its platforms.

“Funny enough about Brexit, I had a guy, linked to, me, for no reason –, I don’t know why, contacted me from LinkedIn and say: ‘Hi I’m head of digital infrastructure of the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom, we would like to do advertising with Google, could you help me with that?’ I was like—I didn’t answer,” Amaduzzi laughed.

“You’re telling an Italian that lives in London that you want to advertise Brexit,” he added, amused by the idea. “And you’re asking a European guy to help you do that, I was like, sure.”

“Because you’re the gatekeeper of Google, what you’re going to allow to advertise. So, if they want to promote it—” the Project Veritas journalist asked later in the discussion.

“No, not really, I wish I was that influential. I’m just one of the pawns,” Amaduzzi replied.

“But in a way you are because you said you can say no, which is—” the journalist interjected.

“Oh yeah, I didn’t help him,” Amaduzzi confirmed.

In the video recap, O’Keefe noted that “it’s pretty clear that Google is editorializing and picking winners and losers.”

“For the most part, it’s being done in the shadows,” he said. “Isn’t it time for them to come clean and be honest about what they might be doing to impact the election?”
