aul Begala, a Democratic political consultant and former adviser to President Bill Clinton, literally screamed during an interview Tuesday to sum up his party’s anxieties heading into the final stretch of the 2020 election cycle.

In an interview with CNN’s “Out Front” host Erin Burnett alongside Republican pollster Ed Goeas and network political analyst Abby Phillip, Begala acknowledged that despite polling showing Democratic nominee Joe Biden well ahead, there are still concerns that President Donald Trump will win.

“Are Democrats feeling confident right now or if so, do they do so at their own peril?” Burnett asked Begala.

“They do so at their peril, Erin, you’re exactly right,” Begala responded.

“They’re not overconfident, believe me. They’re living in this border town between passionate and panicked. In fact, I talk to Democrats all the time, the most common thing that Democrats say is: ‘AAAGGGHHHH!’” Begala said, screeching.

After chuckling, Begala continued.

“They’re scared to death. And they’re highly motivated. And I want them to be that way. I’m sorry to scream in your ear, Erin,” he continued.

“But that’s what they say, seriously, you call them, that’s what they say, a primal scream at the prospect that somehow Trump might get a second term. So they’re highly motivated.”

According to reports in recent days, Democrats are right to be nervous.

Last week, for example, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel noted that nearly half of more than 10,000 attendees canvassed at President Donald Trump’s rally in Iowa were not Republicans.

The RNC chief also noted that around a quarter of those who attended did not vote in the 2016 election, while nearly 14 percent haven’t voted in the past four elections — all of which suggests a growing enthusiasm for the president and the GOP.

Almost 30 percent who attended said they were Democrats.

“Great data from @realDonaldTrump’s rally in Des Moines shows support the pollsters are missing,” she wrote on Twitter. “Thank you, Iowa!”

Also, early voting data suggests the narrative that Democrats will heavily outnumber Republicans in early voting is being challenged.

In a segment during Fox News’ “The Five” on Monday, co-host Jesse Watters said early voting totals thus far indicate that President Trump and, likely, Republicans are doing far better than analysts predicted.

“If you look at the early vote-by-mail, this is a Trump landslide in the making,” he said.

“Democrats have to outperform by mail two-and-a-half to one or two-to-one because they’re not gonna overwhelm election day turnout by Republicans. Now it’s 50-50 or Republicans are actually winning early vote-by-mail in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio,” he continued.

He said Republicans are only slightly behind Democrats in early by-mail voting in Arizona while “Democrats are doing very poorly” in Florida.

Financial analyst site Top Trade Gurus added that 25 percent of Michigan voters have already cast ballots and, “compared to 2016, Republicans have a slim advantage heading into Election Day.”

“It’s expected a rush of ballots from Republicans, leerier of mail voting, will be cast in-person on Nov. 3,” the site noted further, adding additional analysis from other battleground states shows a similar trend.

“Key counties in Michigan have shifted red. Most notably, Kent and Oakland counties. With a half a million votes cast in Oakland county in 2016, overwhelming for Hillary Clinton, it’s nothing less than complete shock to see early voting highly favorable to Republicans,” the analysis said. “With 25% of the Michigan vote in, these results are absolutely terrifying to Democrats.

“Even if we model the data using the most optimistic expectations for Democrats on Nov. 3rd, Republicans still outnumber in the end. This data runs counter to their narrative for victory. The data also suggests the polls are off–way off,” the analysis added.
