In an unexpected moment of levity at NBC News’ combative town hall in Miami, a retired teacher who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and plans to vote for Joe Biden this year complimented President Trump on his “great smile.”

“I have to say, you have a great smile,” Paulette Dale told Trump.  A smiling Trump replied: “Thank you.” Dale gushed: “You’re so handsome when you smile!”

Dale’s fawning compliment caused an uproar on social media.

Predictably, leftists bashed Dale while Trump supporters commended her for the rare glimpse of left-wing goodwill.

“Tolerant liberals” slammed the Biden supporter for saying something nice to the sitting president.

“The thirstiest hoe in America is Paulette Dale!” one Twitter user groused.

Another Biden supporter snarled: “I was watching this and I literally had to change the channel. The CRINGE was too much to take.”

Still another triggered leftist quipped: “She needs new glasses!!!”

Dale later backtracked on her praise of Trump, presumably because she’s aware that she’d be attacked by the left.

After the townhall, Dale told the Miami New Times that she plans to vote for Joe Biden and slammed President Trump.

“I wish he would smile more and talk less,” she snarked. “I think the man has a nice smile. However, I’m not a fan.”

Several Trump supporters remarked that the compliment appeared to take President Trump by surprise and even made him blush.

For a split second, Trump was at a loss for words at the unexpected show of affection during the antagonistic town hall, where host Savannah Guthrie repeatedly attacked him like a rabid hyena.

Trump supporter Victoria Balfour observed: “Trump blushed when that lady said he was so handsome when he smiled.”

Balfour also remarked that President Trump appeared to have another admirer in the audience: A black lady in a pink top who sat behind him.

“Pink-top lady nods her head vigorously when Trump says he’s done more for the African-American community [than Abraham Lincoln].”

The mainstream media continue to tout polls suggesting that Biden is leading President Trump by an insurmountable margin. But skeptics point out that polls are unreliable and were wrong in 2016.

Meanwhile, a new Gallup poll shows that a clear majority of registered voters (56%) say they are better off now than they were four years ago before Trump took office. And this is in spite of the coronavirus crisis, which has decimated the once-sizzling economy.

This is a damning indictment of the Democrats’ talking point that President Trump has not been great for America.

During his 1980 presidential campaign, Ronald Reagan — one of the most popular U.S. presidents in history — asked Americans, “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?”

That question has since served as a key metric that presidents running for reelection are judged by.
