There’s a reason why President Donald Trump calls her “crazy Nancy” …
During her almost always dramatic weekly press conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi seemingly threatened to remove Trump from office using the 25th Amendment.
She’d been speaking about the “prospects” of negotiating a coronavirus relief bill with Republicans when she blurted out what appeared to be an unhinged, extreme threat.
“Well, I don’t know what the prospects are when we hear people saying ‘I’m young, and I’m a perfect specimen’ instead of addressing the fact that 50,000 people were reported to be infected yesterday. Nearly 1,000 people died. What are we talking about here?”
Speaking with Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo earlier that morning, the president had indeed said, “I’m back because I am perfect physical specimen and extremely young,” though he’d said it in reference to serving as a guinea pig.
Like he explained in a Twitter video posted Wednesday evening, contracting the coronavirus forced him to try a slew of different drugs for relief. He thus served as a “young,” “perfect” guinea pig for drugs that he’s helped prove do work.
Dovetailing back to Pelosi’s presser, the speaker then dropped her stunning threat.
“Tomorrow, by the way, tomorrow, come here tomorrow. We’re going to be talking about the 25th Amendment. But not to take attention away from the subject we have now,” she said.

Pelosi then continued babbling about other matters until a reporter asked her for clarification.
She responded by saying, “I’m not talking about it today except to tell you, if you want to talk about that, we’ll see you tomorrow. But you take me back to my point.”
“Mr. President, when was the last time you had a negative test before you tested positive? Why is the White House not telling the country that important fact about how this made a hotspot of the White House?”

She appeared to be suggesting that she thinks the president should be removed from office because of an alleged lack of transparency?
To be clear, this isn’t the first time she’s sought to remove the president from office. However, all previous attempts have been quite unsuccessful, and the evidence suggests the current attempt will also be unsuccessful.
The 25th Amendment specifically addresses “what happens if a president is grievously wounded” or “if he or she is mentally incapacitated and can’t continue doing the job responsibly.”
“What the amendment spells out is a procedure by which members of the Cabinet can agree to notify Congress that they do not believe a president can carry out his or her duties,” NPR notes.
“The officials could send a letter to Congress explaining why and, if Congress agrees by a two-thirds vote of both chambers, lawmakers could make the vice president ‘Acting President,’ under Section 4 of the 25th Amendment.”
But what does this have to do with the president? He’s neither “grievously wounded” nor “mentally incapacitated,” though it’s true Pelosi — “crazy Pelosi,” to be exact — had earlier this week accused him of essentially being high off his COVID medications.
She made the bizarre accusation after the president abruptly cut off stimulus talks.
“On a Democratic call, reacting to the President abruptly breaking off stimulus talks, Speaker Pelosi questioned whether Trump taking a steroid was impacting his thinking, according to two people on the call,” CNN’s Manu Raju reported.

But what’s truly more crazy — the president cutting off negotiations with a stubborn woman who’s been stonewalling negotiations for literal months, or that same woman threatening to remove said president from office?
And is it even an issue of craziness — or is it one of desperation?
.@SpeakerPelosi is desperate. First, the Russian hoax, then a failed impeachment attempt and now plotting the 25th amendment strategy. SHIP HER BACK TO SAN FRANCISCO! We need a GOP speaker. TIME TO END THE DEMOCRAT TYRANNY & HYPOCRISY!

Or is it both? After all, for a Democrat to broach the 25th Amendment when she presumably knows full well that approval from the Trump administration’s own Cabinet would be required to pursue it seems both desperate AND crazy.
The problem with the 25th Amendment is that Pence and Trump’s cabinet are required to approve it.
