Former U.S. Rep. Katie Hill claimed Tuesday night that her old government Twitter account had been “hacked” by “former staff” who railed on her as a #MeToo “perpetrator.”

Hill, a California Democrat, made the claim following an announcement that a biographical film based on her book, “She Will Rise: Becoming a Warrior in the Battle for True Equality,” is set for streaming release.

Actress Elisabeth Moss has been tapped to play Hill, Fox News reported. The film is being produced by Blumhouse Television. The former congresswoman, who resigned amid a “throuple” sex scandal, also announced on Twitter that she’ll be one of the film’s producers.

Hill’s government Twitter account had been idle since she resigned in October 2019. The alleged hackers singled out Moss, Blumhouse, and screenwriter Michael Seitzman for taking part in the film project.

“Katie’s former staff here. Disappointed in so many folks – including Elizabeth Moss, @blumhouse, & @michaelseitzman – regarding today’s announcement,” the first of several tweets read.

“What happened to Katie Hill shouldn’t happen to anyone. But, this moment requires more nuance, as Katie Hill’s story – our story – is also one of workplace abuse and harassment,” said another message.

“Katie Hill can be both a victim and perpetrator. And, staff can experience severe consequences for speaking out against their powerful boss,” the thread continued. “No one should have to put themselves in harm’s way for the public to understand a simple truth: Katie Hill is not a hero for women. We deserve heroes who embody our values even in the most difficult moments.”

The alleged hackers also falsely claimed that Hill was never investigated by the House Ethics Committee — she was — while cautioning people against simply taking her word for things.

“Katie took advantage of her subordinates. She caused immense harm to the people who worked for her, many of whom were young women just beginning their careers in politics,” the thread noted further.

“Workplace abuse and harassment can take many different forms, but one thing is certain: it is never okay, even if your boss is a woman and/or a survivor,” another post said.

“Enough is enough. In order to advance the #MeToo movement, we must be willing to acknowledge the problematic behaviors among those in our own communities. Only then will we see true progress. #TimesUp #MeToo,” the thread concluded.

In response to the thread, Hill thanked online users who told her about the messages.

“Thanks to all who let me know my government official twitter account was hacked. Control of my account was immediately handed back to the House Clerk when I resigned, including password changes and access restrictions. God knows who hacked it from there. Reported to @twitter,” she posted from her personal account.

Compromising photos of Hill, as well as reported texts to her from a female campaign staffer, surfaced in October 2019 in a report by Jennifer Van Laar, a managing editor at RedState. The ‘throuple’ relationship purportedly involved Hill, her husband, and the staffer.

Hill admitted to having a sexual relationship with the campaign staffer. Her then-estranged husband would accuse Hill of having an affair with her legislative director Graham Kelly.

She denied the relationship with Kelly, but that’s what triggered the Ethics Committee investigation, which in turn led to her resignation from Congress.

After she resigned, her old seat flipped back to the Republican Party after Navy pilot Mike Garcia won a special election in May.
