Refreshing: Megyn Kelly accused of favoring Trump insists she’s ‘just not in the tank for Biden’

Though some have and continue to disagree, former Fox News host turned podcast star Megyn Kelly has nevertheless always portrayed herself as a genuinely objective, non-biased journalist.

And so when a demonstrably left-wing “news” outlet owned by Vice Media accused her this week of being a “partisan political analyst” who favors President Donald Trump, she pounced.

“Megyn Kelly’s Tweets Make One Thing Clear: She’s For Trump,” the title of the piece by Refinery29 reads.

Refinery29 is the same outlet that designed a “Mute White People” sticker on Instagram earlier this year.

Responding to the story, which was written by Refinery29 contributor Lola Mendez on Wednesday, on Thursday the mean-girl crusher clapped back by urging Mendez and her peers at Refinery29 to learn how to conduct real news analysis, i.e., journalism.

Look:

“Or, just not in the tank for Biden and able to report fairly on both sides,” she wrote, referencing the title and premise of Refinery29’s piece.

She then sarcastically added, “While I appreciate your website taking a break from watching The Bachelor & The Kardashians to try its hand at news analysis, consider trying it my way! It’s really not hard.”

In the Refinery29 piece, Mendez took issue with tweets that Kelly had posted during the first presidential debate Tuesday night. Virtually every tweet bothered her, from the fun ones that demonstrated Kelly has a sense of humor, to the more serious ones that noted flaws in Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden’s performance.

“Kelly cosplayed as a partisan political analyst in a series of spit-fire tweets that were actually just a MAGA love letter. In her initial take, she insulted Biden’s complexion (important!),” the Refinery29 writer complained.

She’d been referencing this tweet:

Notice how the tweet also mocked Trump’s complexion.

“Then, she made a drinking game out of the presidential debate as she watched the spectacle with her children who were apparently also tickled by Trump’s strange insults,” Mendez continued.

Apparently, it makes you a “partisan political analyst” to have fun.

Also, the “insults” went both ways, with the president and Biden repeatedly insulting one another over the course of the night, as reported by Kelly.

The only “insult” she reported finding amusing was when the president gently quipped about Biden showing up “with the biggest mask I’ve ever seen.”

All the other insults that occurred during the debate were either reported straight or in fact condemned by Kelly.

Case in point:

One of the tweets above was a condemnation of Trump claiming that Biden isn’t smart.

Also included among the journalist’s tweets was praise for Biden.

Look:

In her “journalisming,” it seems Mendez missed all these tweets …

The Refinery29 writer went on to accuse Kelly of having a history of spouting “racist commentary” and make an issue of the journalist having “praised” the president this week “for passing prison reform, anti-sex tracking legislation, Middle East relations, lowering taxes, and more.”

“But perhaps what’s most shocking is that the former debate moderator seems to have forgotten Trump said she was hormonal during a 2016 debate and had ‘blood coming out of her wherever.’ But the nature of Kelly’s tweets make it clear that she’s supporting Trump all the way to the voting booth — in spite of his obviously atrocious behavior,” she concluded.

It’s true that Kelly had a feud of sorts with Trump during the 2016 presidential election. It’s also true the feud led to some Fox News turning against her.

But what also appears to be true is that, as someone who views herself as a real journalist, Kelly isn’t interested in allowing petty grievances to taint her journalism. Mendez clearly doesn’t feel similarly.

While not busy tweeting, Kelly can be heard on her top 10 Apple podcast, the “The Megyn Kelly Show.”
