TESTY exchange: Cruz scolds Megyn Kelly for ‘liberal journalist’ line of questions

cruz-kellyMuch like Donald Trump, fellow Republican presidential contender Ted Cruz took exception Tuesday to a line of questioning from Fox News host Megyn Kelly.

Appearing on “The Kelly File,” Cruz was asked a specific question about whether he would deport a husband and a wife who are illegal immigrants, with two children who are American citizens.

Trump was asked that very question the night before during an appearance on “The O’Reilly Factor,” and answered that he would.

But Cruz responded by addressing the issue from a broader perspective, with a focus on what Congress should do, which prompted Kelly to push back.

“You, you’re dodging my question,” she said. “You don’t want to answer that question?”

But just as Hollywood actress Ellen Page found out the hard way last week, Cruz has no intentions of being pulled down a rabbit hole of someone else’s choosing.

“Megyn, I get that that’s the question you want to ask. That’s also the question every mainstream media liberal journalist wants to ask,” he said. “They focus exclusively on 12 million people.”

“Is it an unfair question?” Kelly interjected.

“It is a distraction from how we actually solve the problem,” Cruz replied, “You know, it’s also the question [President] Barack Obama wants to focus on.”

The Texas senator concluded by saying he was willing to have a conversation about who gets deported after the border is secured and U.S. immigration laws are being enforced.
