CNN blatantly showed its bias and remarkable condescension in a recent exchange that set off anchor Poppy Harlow who snapped when The New York Times was criticized.

The “CNN Newsroom” co-host openly expressed her frustration with her guest, Deputy White House Press Secretary Brian Morgenstern, on Monday as they discussed a New York Times story about President Trump’s tax returns. But Harlow went off when Morgenstern dared to question whether the liberal newspaper had coordinated with Democrats to score a “political hit” against the president.

Morgenstern was treated to constant interruptions and biased questioning throughout the long segment as Harlow scolded him and continued to imply Trump had evaded paying taxes. Even after asking Morgenstern a direct question about how much Trump had paid in taxes, the CNN host could be heard making sounds and appearing to grow impatient.

She harped on one point in the Times article which claimed Trump paid $750 in taxes in 2016 and then again in 2017, but Morgenstern noted how Trump had paid $70 million in taxes from 2005-2007, adding that “an interesting question would be where are the taxes that Hunter Biden paid on his $3.5 million from Russia” or his funds from China.

But Harlow shot back that Trump paid more in taxes to other countries than to the United States and that did not fit his “America First” narrative. Morgenstern explained again how the president has donated his salary since he took office and, therefore, does not have the tax bill she was implying. But his reference to Biden again ignited Harlow.

“I absolutely should not be asking the president’s spokesman about someone who is not germane to this conversation who is not running for president,” she said.

“Please do our viewers a service. Brian, please do our viewers a service of answering my questions about the man you work —,” she said to her guest, speaking down to him and claiming she is the one asking the questions.

“The documents The New York Times used they wouldn’t even show them to anybody so they could be verified or disputed,” Morgenstern attempted to explain again.

The president’s attorneys’ stated he’s paid tens of millions of dollars in taxes. We know this. We know that he donates his salary to the government even when he doesn’t even have to,” he said. “That’s a million and a half dollars in taxes he didn’t have to pay, but this is a story that is another version of it from four years ago on the eve of the debate, coordinated with the Democrats as a political hit.”

Harlow, who continued to comment in the background even as the deputy press secretary spoke, now jumped in to shut him down.

“Okay. I’m just going to stop you there. These are remarkable reporters from The New York Times who went through 20 years of documents. It is not okay to accuse them with no facts of coordinating with the Democratic Party,” Harlow said.

“Please stop doing that or this interview will end. Brian, stop attacking the press. I have not seen you do that largely before. Stop doing that. I am asking you direct questions. You can put the entire thing to bed if the president would release the records and show the American people what he says is true. Why will he not do that?” she added.

“So, the press can attack him but he cannot defend himself? That is not a fair position,” Morgenstern shot back, reminding Harlow that the Times’ story confirmed that, according to Trump’s tax records, there were no ties to Russia.

But he could barely get out the reminder that the liberal media again got it wrong by pushing the Russia conspiracy theories, as Harlow’s petulant impatience was on full display. She defended the newspaper again, saying the New York Times “won a Pulitzer Prize for saying he had Russia ties.”

Newsbusters’ Curtis Houck shared video of Harlow’s “immature” and “condescending groans, signs, and facial movements.”

They two moved on to speak about the coronavirus pandemic and the president’s rallies, as the CNN host continued to be triggered by Morgenstern whom she spoke to like a child at times.
