Group that touts themselves ‘Patriotic Millionaires’ reportedly planning nasty attack on Trump’s SCOTUS nom

Democrat leaders are being urged to “take a stand” and do whatever it takes to oppose anyone that President Trump nominates to the Supreme Court.

Top Dems including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer were implored in a letter from a group of left-wing political activists to “permanently discredit” the president’s nominee, regardless of the person’s qualifications. The shocking letter by the Patriotic Millionaires was shared on their website and signed, “Every Decent American.”

“You clearly lack the legislative power to stop the morally-bankrupt Republican hypocrites in the U.S. Senate from confirming a far-right ideologue to a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court just days before the most divisive and consequential election in American history,” the letter addressed to Schumer and Senate Democrats began.

“This unfortunate reality demands that you embrace the inescapable moral and constitutional obligation you have to use every power at your disposal to brand this corrupt process as the illegitimate farce it is and to discredit permanently the judicial fitness of any nominee who agrees to be a part of it,” the leftist group continued, in a paragraph highlighted in bold letters on the website.

“Any nominee willing to be considered or confirmed by this sham process is definitionally unfit to serve in the United States Supreme Court,” they determined, even before any nominee’s name has been revealed.

The group, led by founder and president Erica Payne, demanded that Democrats “use every possible procedural tool at your disposal to disrupt and delay this public fraud,” adding examples of actions to take, including boycotting the confirmation hearings and other steps to disrupt the constitutional process.

“Block the typically-proforma ‘Unanimous Consent’ agreements that set the daily schedule and the terms of conduct for Senate business, including any resolutions to adjourn the Senate,” the letter suggested. The Democrat lawmakers were also called on to “[R]epeatedly force your Republican colleagues to produce the quorum of 51 Senators necessary to conduct Senate business on their own.”

In an eye-opening self-description, Patriotic Millionaires explains that it is a group of “high-net worth Americans who share a profound concern about the destabilizing level of inequality in America.”

“Our work centers on the two things that matter most in a capitalist democracy: power and money,” and they announce that they are “proud ‘traitors to their class,'” on their website. Started in 2010, members of the group have “annual incomes over $1 million and/or assets over $5 million” and are “committed to raising the minimum wage, combatting the influence of big money in politics, and advancing a progressive tax structure.”

In their letter to Democrats, the group acknowledged that none of the suggested actions “will prevent power-hungry Republicans and their billionaire political benefactors from seating the nominee of their choice regardless of how distasteful their ideology may be to the majority of Americans.”

But the battles “must nevertheless be fought,” they declared, telling the senators that they “no longer have the option to stand idly by,” claiming that Trump has “publicly stated his intention to remain in office regardless of the outcome of this election.”

“You are risking the integrity of our country’s most sacred values, institutions, and system of democracy itself if you confer legitimacy on a nakedly corrupt, profoundly illegitimate process,” the brash letter concluded.

In addition, Payne reportedly pressed Senate Democrats and activists in a conference call on Thursday. Advocating more disruptions to the legal process, Payne demanded they work at “mak[ing] this an unbelievably painful process for Senate Republicans” and “kick[ing] the f— out of” Democratic senators who won’t fight hard enough,” according to the Washington Examiner.

She reportedly added that although a nominee will certainly be confirmed, “the question is whether we can extract any flesh and bone in the process.”

“We need to help senators do some things that are out of their comfort zones but are necessary … to save this country,” Adam Jentleson, once the deputy chief of staff to former Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, said as he addressed those on the call.

“I think I manipulate the media better than anyone else on this phone call,” Payne added.
