A treasure trove of newly disclosed FBI texts that were contained in court documents filed Thursday by former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s attorney, Sidney Powell, suggest that members of the FBI had known they were engaging in illegal acts during their fraudulent investigations into President Donald Trump and Flynn.
Sent during the “Crossfire Hurricane” (collusion probe) and “Crossfire Razor” (Flynn probe) investigations, the texts show, for instance, how agents within the bureau had purchased liability insurance less than two weeks before the president’s January 2017 inauguration.
“[W]e all went and purchased professional liability insurance,” one agent texted on Jan. 10, 2017, the same day that BuzzFeed published the Steele dossier.
“I think [t]he concern when we got it was that there was a big leak at DOJ and the NYT among others was going to do a piece,” the agent added.

According to journalists Mollie Hemingway and Sean Davis, both of whom have reviewed Powell’s court filings, though the names of the agents are redacted, one filing contains a quote from the Department of Justice confirming that “the latest document production included handwritten notes and texts from Peter Strzok, Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page, and FBI analysts who worked on the FBI’s investigation of Flynn.”
As in disgraced former FBI special agent Peter Strzok, disgraced former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and disgraced former FBI attorney Lisa Page.
The texts contained in the filings also show that the agents had expressed trepidation about then-Sen. Jeff Session’s upcoming confirmation as attorney general.
“[T]he new AG might have some questions….then yada yada yada…we all get screwed,” one agent wrote.
Questions about what? And why would questions over their work lead to them being “screwed?”
“I’m tellying [sic] man, if this thing ever gets FOIA’d, there are going to be some tough questions asked. [A]nd a great deal of those will be related to Brian having a scope way outside the boundaries of logic,” one agent wrote.
“[REDACTED] is one of the worst offenders of the rabbit holes and conspiracy theories. This guy traveled with that guy, who put down 3rd guy as his visa sponsor. 3rd guy lives near a navy base, therefore…,” another added.
Brian’s identity remains unknown. It also remains unclear why a Freedom of Information Act request would cause problems for the FBI. Isn’t it supposed to be a legitimate government agency that conducts legitimate investigations?

Another set of explosive texts contained in Powell’s filings show an agent admitting that the president “was right” about the chicanery happening behind the scenes.
Sent on Jan. 5, the day of of the infamous Oval Office meeting between then-President Barack Obama, then-Vice President Joe Biden, then-FBI Director James Comey, then-National Security Advisor Susan Rice, the text specifically cited the following tweet that had been posted by the president two days earlier:
The “Intelligence” briefing on so-called “Russian hacking” was delayed until Friday, perhaps more time needed to build a case. Very strange!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 4, 2017
At the time Trump posted this, members of the perpetually wrong, know-nothing left instinctively accused him of being a crazy idiot.
Numerous reports say briefing was also Friday. Entire claim here a lie. https://t.co/KzxVC9sWO5

Did you ask your friend Putin what he thinks? @realDonaldTrump https://t.co/8XT3PTnvcb

This “tweet” is so “dumb.” Doorknob! https://t.co/5ny03JHp25

The tweet was “so dumb” … yet so “right.”
Below is a transcript of the text-message conversation in which one agent said the president was right:
Agent: “So razor is going to stay open???”
Agent: “[Y]ep. [C]rimes report being drafted.”
Agent: “[W]hat’s the word on how [Obama’s] briefing went?”
Agent: “Dont know but people here are scrambling for info to support certain things and its a mad house.”
Agent: “[J]esus. [T]rump was right. [S]till not put together….why do we do this to ourselves. [W]hat is wrong with these people[?]”
What is wrong with them indeed …

According to Hemingway and Davis, all these texts combined seem to “detail the extent of the FBI’s desire to take down Trump and his associates at any cost.”
They also appear to prove how the FBI had been all in for then-Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton.
“The explosive new text messages also show agents believed the investigation was being run by FBI officials who were in the tank for Hillary Clinton,” the two journalists wrote in an extensive piece for The Federalist.
“[D]oing all this election research – I think some of these guys want a [C]linton presidency,” one agent wrote.
This particular text was reportedly sent on Aug. 11, “shortly” after “Crossfire Hurricane” was formally launched …
