Florida’s Republican governor Ron DeSantis triggered leftists by sharing a phenomenal COVID update showing that hospitalizations and infections have tumbled over the past three months.
The encouraging statistics spotlight how well DeSantis has managed the coronavirus epidemic in his state, as contrasted with the gross mishandling of New York‘s Democrat governor Andrew Cuomo.
DeSantis tweeted: “Florida COVID update:
- The number of COVID+ patients currently hospitalized is down more than 70% since July.
- Hospitalized COVID+ patients represent less than 5% of total licensed beds in Florida.
- 24% of all hospital beds are empty; 22% of all ICU beds are also empty.
- The number of COVID+ patients in the ICU has declined by almost 65% since July.
- Percentage positive of diagnostic tests for 9/10: 4.87% in Miami-Dade/3.19 % in Broward.5.
- Daily hospital admissions for COVID have declined by 74% since July.

Predictably, left-wing prophets of doom who want the country to stay shut down until after the November election slammed DeSantis.
However, grateful Florida residents thanked DeSantis for his expert handling of the coronavirus, especially as compared to New York’s epic mismanagement of the crisis.

Many Florida residents urged Governor DeSantis to reopen the state given the incredible progress it has made.

The editor of a Florida newspaper said: “Excellent summary of the state of COVID in Florida. Perhaps the biggest takeaway is that THIS IS NOT AN EMERGENCY. We are destroying people’s lives to get to some unreasonably low level of infection with one specific virus.”

The Left has lionized New York governor Andrew Cuomo as a hero, while criticizing Ron DeSantis, despite data clearly showing that DeSantis did all the right things.
That’s a stark contrast to Cuomo’s mandate forcing nursing homes to take coronavirus patients. That resulted in the deaths of thousands of senior citizens.

Florida bars are set to reopen at half-capacity on September 14, and many university students are returning to campuses for in-person learning.
While the coronavirus is a real crisis that everyone should take seriously, numerous commentators have noted that COVID has been weaponized and politicized to influence voters ahead of the November election.
The Democrat Party’s new attack line is to blame President Trump for the crisis to deflect attention from the Black Lives Matter riots that have destroyed liberal cities and terrorized law-abiding Americans.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson has repeatedly sounded the alarm, saying Democrats are using COVID for political ends.
“In the name of public health, they reward supporters, and they punish their opponents,” Carlson said. “They’re barely hiding this anymore.”
One example is how Democrats have fought to keep churches locked down while praising crowded Black Lives Matter marches and riots.
Carlson continued: “In state after state, governors have targeted the faithful on the assumption that most traditional Christians do not vote Democrat. Therefore, they must be punished. Banning the exercise of religion is unconstitutional.”
He added: “It’s a direct violation of the letter and the spirit of the First Amendment. It has never happened before, but [Democrats] have made it happen. They’ve closed church services and synagogue services and arrested people for attempting to attend them.”
