President Donald Trump eviscerated Portland’s Democratic mayor for trying to blame him for the fatal shooting of a demonstrator over the weekend.

The president blasted Mayor Ted Wheeler in a series of tweets Sunday, calling him out as a “fool” and warning that “he hasn’t seen anything yet” after the Democrat tried to blame him for months of violence in the Oregon city.

“Ted Wheeler, the wacky Radical Left Do Nothing Democrat Mayor of Portland, who has watched great death and destruction of his City during his tenure, thinks this lawless situation should go on forever. Wrong! Portland will never recover with a fool for a Mayor,” Trump tweeted after Wheeler’s rant on Sunday.

“He tried mixing with the Agitators and Anarchists and they mocked him,” the president continued. “He would like to blame me and the Federal Government for going in, but he hasn’t seen anything yet We have only been there with a small group to defend our U.S. Courthouse, because he couldn’t do it.”

Wheeler openly thumbed his nose at the president’s offer to send federal help and end the rioting in Portland. He then attempted to deflect responsibility for his city’s anarchy, and the cold-blooded shooting of a Trump supporter on Saturday, by lashing out at the president.

“Do you seriously wonder, Mr. President, why this is the first time in decades that America has seen this level of violence? It’s you who have created the hate and the division,” Wheeler said during a press conference Sunday.

Police are investigating Michael Reinoehl, a Black Lives Matter supporter who described himself as “100% ANTIFA,” as a possible suspect in the shooting death of Aaron “Jay” Danielson, who supported the conservative group Patriot Prayer. Danielson died after being shot in the chest following a pro-Trump caravan that had gone through downtown Portland Saturday.

“Yesterday’s events began with hundreds of cars filled with supporters of the president rallying in Clackamas County and then driving through downtown Portland,” Wheeler said. “They were supported and energized by the president himself.”

“President Trump, for four years, we’ve had to live with you and your racist attacks on black people, we learned early about your sexist attitudes towards women,” Wheeler continued his attack, whining about Trump’s mean tweets, his criticism of the late Sen. John McCain and his “attacking Democratic mayors.”

“President Trump, you bring no peace. You bring no respect to our democracy,” he added. “You, Mr. President, need to do your job as the leader of this nation. I, Mr. President, will do my job as the mayor of this city. We will both be held accountable as we should. I’m calling out every other elected official in Oregon to join me. Not only in defeating racism but helping me to stop the violence as we are and will continue to be held accountable by all of our residents.”

Wheeler’s outrageous finger-pointing came shortly after he had made a show of refusing federal help in a letter to Trump.

“On behalf of the City of Portland: No thanks,” the Democrat declared the day before the fatal shooting by a suspect who had been arrested for illegally possessing a loaded firearm at another riot.

Wheeler claimed thousands had been “peacefully” protesting in Portland and told Trump to stay away. After the shooting on Saturday, the mayor was joined by Democratic nominee Joe Biden in trying to blame the president for his own incompetence.

“The deadly violence we saw overnight in Portland is unacceptable,” Biden said on Sunday. “Shooting in the streets of a great American city is unacceptable. I condemn this violence unequivocally. I condemn violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right. And I challenge Donald Trump to do the same.”

“A country that vows vengeance toward one another. But that is the America that President Trump wants us to be, the America he believes we are,” he added. “What does President Trump think will happen when he continues to insist on fanning the flames of hate and division in our society and using the politics of fear to whip up his supporters? He is recklessly encouraging violence.”

Trump torched Biden in his tweets condemning Wheeler and Democrats.

The president also posted a message of tribute to the victim in the Portland shooting.

“Rest In Peace Jay!” the president wrote, retweeting Amy Kremer, Women for Trump co-founder, who wrote that the man who supported the conservative group Patriot Prayer was “a good American that loved his country and Backed the Blue. He was murdered in Portland by ANTIFA. Jay, we will never forget you. Rest In Peace my friend.”

Meanwhile, Wheeler’s rant earned him a wave of backlash on Twitter.
