President Donald Trump took a shot at Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his “plunging” poll numbers as the reason he is finally “coming out of the basement.”
The president seemed to narrow the gap between his 2020 rival after weeks of Democrats trying to blame him for everything from the coronavirus pandemic to rioting in their own cities, and he mocked Biden in a tweet Sunday just as the former vice president finally commented on the ongoing violence.
“Joe Biden is coming out of the basement earlier than his hoped for ten days because his people told him he has no choice, his poll numbers are PLUNGING!” Trump tweeted.
“Going to Pittsburgh, where I have helped industry to a record last year, & then back to his basement for an extended period,” he added, noting that the Democrat is headed to Pennsylvania on a campaign stop.
“His problem is interesting,” the president added, calling out Biden’s soft-on-crime stance.
….His problem is interesting. He must always be weak on CRIME because of the Bernie Sanders Radical Left voter. If he loses them, like Crooked Hillary did, he is “toast”, and many will vote for me because of TRADE (Bernie was good on trade). Joe MUST always be weak on crime!

Biden finally spoke out Sunday after a Trump supporter was murdered in Portland allegedly by a self-proclaimed antifa and Black Lives Matter supporter, a narrative-busting development for Democrats. But the former vice president actually took a shot at Trump in his statement, blaming him for the lawlessness in the city run by a Democrat mayor who, just one day before, had told Trump “no thanks” when he offered federal assistance to quell the riots.
“The deadly violence we saw overnight in Portland is unacceptable. Shooting in the streets of a great American city is unacceptable. I condemn this violence unequivocally. I condemn violence of every kind by any one, whether on the left or the right,” Biden said in a statement.
“And I challenge Donald Trump to do the same,” he added, apparently unaware from his basement hideout that Trump has been calling for “law and order” for months.
“What does President Trump think will happen when he continues to insist on fanning the flames of hate and division in our society and using the politics of fear to whip up his supporters?” Biden said.
His running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris quickly echoed his remarks.
I join @JoeBiden in condemning this violence. This can not—and must not—be who we are. Americans deserve a president who will heal our country and bring people together—not fan the flames of hate and division. https://t.co/21h00uFFR7

But after weeks of silence in the wake of the rioting and violence in America’s cities, the sudden shift by Democrats as they scrambled to control the narrative was slammed by many as too little, too late. The move was also called out as a response to a downward drop in polling for the Democratic ticket. This was also seen in a graph from Real Clear Politics on the election betting odds.
No wonder Joe’s suddenly leaving the basement. 😂 https://t.co/Flb6TukYzA

With Biden at 50.1 percent and Trump at 48.3 percent, the nominees are nearly tied, according to Real Clear Politics betting odds on Aug. 31 from the average of seven betting marketplaces.
OddsShark’s Presidential Election odds tracker also showed an interesting shift:

Trump took another shot at Biden later Sunday, wondering: “When is Slow Joe Biden going to criticize the Anarchists, Thugs & Agitators in ANTIFA?”
When is Slow Joe Biden going to criticize the Anarchists, Thugs & Agitators in ANTIFA? When is he going to suggest bringing up the National Guard in BADLY RUN & Crime Infested Democrat Cities & States? Remember, he can’t lose the Crazy Bernie Super Liberal vote!

Many Twitter users saw the unmistakable correlation between Biden’s threatened polling numbers and the sudden tone shift in condemning the left-wing rioting.
Not sure who thought pandering to the mob was a good idea. It’s too late to pull everything in full reverse. The Dems are screwed.

I don’t see the dems able to put these anarchists back in line without alienating part of their base. If the game plan is “this is Trumps fault” it will not work since these are dem mayors and govs.

Yup, amazingly that’s exactly how they are playing this. Truth be told I’m thinking Dems are actually trying to lose the election.

Just to add its also kamala’s vp nomination

Considering their incompetent leadership, I hope they lose every seat this election.
They deserve it.
