Unprecedented assault launched on Trump’s three-year-old grandson story from Ivanka’s RNC speech

The mainstream media’s outsized criticisms of President Donald Trump are unprecedented, but so, too, are their attacks on the president’s family.

While criticism of the president’s children, including Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and son-in-law Jared Kushner can be considered legitimate since they have policy roles within the administration or have acted as a spokesperson for their father, the media have also assailed the president’s minor child, Barron. Democratic lawmakers, too.

And now they’re going after his three-year-old grandson.

As Ivanka spoke before introducing her president father Thursday ahead of his speech to close out the Republican National Convention, she related a story about her three-year-old son Joseph, who built a White House using Legos and gave it to his grandfather.

“When Jared and I moved with our three children to Washington, we didn’t exactly know what we were in for. But our kids loved it from the start,” Ivanka said. “My son Joseph promptly built grandpa a Lego replica of the White House. The president still displays it on the mantel in the Oval Office and shows it to world leaders, just so they know he has the greatest grandchildren on earth.”

For some reason, the first daughter’s story became a story in and of itself, as John Nolte at Breitbart News noted:

Naturally, the fake news media could not allow this to stand.

Too warm.

Too humanizing.

Not enough Orange Man Bad.

It took two people — two! — at Business Insider to break the fake bombshell that “if the Lego White House is real, where is it?”

“See? Lots of statues. No Lego White Houses. Bloomberg News’s White House editor Alex Wayne tweeted that none of his outlet’s reporters have ever seen the Lego White House,” Business Insider reported.

That said, the president posted a picture of him and his grandson in the Oval Office, with the Lego White House years back. Donald Trump Jr showed it in his tweet:

Nolte observed that additional “members of the Blue Checkmark Media Mafia” also “immediately lost their diseased minds.”

“OMG, Ivanka is telling a story about her son Joseph building a lego model of the White House. She told the same story about herself once, building a lego Trump Tower,” Andrea Bernstein, a WNYC podcast host and correspondent at ProPublica tweeted.

Bernstein claimed that her example was proof that Ivanka was not being truthful. But, as Nolte pointed out, the excerpt contained in Bernstein’s tweet pertains to an anecdote about Ivanka building a “Trump Tower out of Legos and something about her evil father fuming over what she got wrong and something else about that anecdote not even being true and then the black helicopters arrived and took me to my special place.”

He added that it was odd for Bernstein to cite that anecdote while failing to understand that the grandson’s Lego White House could be part of the passing on of a tradition — from mother to son.

“Maybe a normal person could inform Bernstein that normal people would look at a story of Ivanka gifting her dad with a Lego replica as pretty solid evidence her son would do the same thing,” he wrote.

Carolina Hurley, Special Assistant to the President and Associate Director of Communications for Economic Initiatives, tweeted out pictures of the president and his grandson with the Lego, as well as a Getty Images photo of where he placed it in the Oval Office.

“I absolutely cannot believe that reporters are really trying to cast doubt on the validity of a 6 year old’s gift to his grandfather. Be better,” she wrote, the latter a reference, perhaps, to first lady Melania Trump’s “Be Best” campaign.

“Business Insider was forced to update its fake news,” Nolte wrote.

But that wasn’t the end of it.

Donald Trump Jr. tweeted a screenshot of a Bernstein Twitter post in which she actually claimed to have sought confirmation from the White House that the Lego model exists and of the grandson “built it of his own initiative.”

“In case you’re wondering how absolutely insane the left-wing media has become look no further than this tweet. Are you kidding me? Now they’re going after three-year-olds!” Don Jr. wrote.
