Tucker dubs DNC lineup ‘coalition of the miserable’ after series of depressing speeches

Fox News host Tucker Carlson leveled a scathing critique of Democrats and members of Joe Biden’s campaign as being part of a “coalition of the miserable.”

Carlson unloaded on Democrats for blaming their problems and miseries on President Donald Trump during a lengthy monologue on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Thursday, noting how they all share one common trait.

“We’ve seen an awful lot this week,” Carlson said as the Democratic National Convention reached its final night when Biden would formally accept the presidential nomination.

“We watched Elizabeth Warren promise to bring peace to Indian country,” the Fox News host said.

“We saw [Michelle Obama] call in from her $11 million summer home in Martha’s Vineyard and claim to be oppressed … We saw post-makeover Sandy Cortez [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] nominate a man she referred to mysteriously as Bernard Sanders for president,” he added, referring to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s minute-long video appearance in which she nominated Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.

Carlson contended that the message the Democrats put forth this week certainly did not present a “coherent ideological framework” and Biden himself appeared to have no strong opinions on anything besides “lunch and a nap.”

“So what exactly do all of these people have in common? They are all unhappy. Deeply and personally unhappy,” he said. “Tormented at the most basic level. This is the coalition of the miserable.”

The reasons for this vary, according to Carlson, with many Democrats disappointed in how their lives turned out and others just being “victims of their own affluence.”

“Being rich for too long tends to destroy people from within, particularly when they didn’t earn it,” he said. “Whatever the cause, you could not pick a more maladjusted group than the speakers of the DNC this week. You wouldn’t want these people babysitting your kids.”

He went on to note how many of the DNC speakers focused on blaming Trump for their own disappointments and unhappiness.

“Donald Trump is destroying everything we care about. Period. That right there is the message of the DNC this week,” he said, summing it up as “you’re unhappy, so are we, it’s all Donald Trump’s fault, let’s kick him out.”

Carlson elaborated on his point, noting how the DNC speakers never had to focus on policies or platform, or even take responsibility, since all the nation’s woes could be laid at the feet of Trump.

“How could one man achieve so much global evil in a single 24-hour day?” Carlson mocked after airing a clip of Sen. Elizabeth Warren slamming Trump.

He went on to highlight how Democrats keep the focus on blaming the president for everything to keep the spotlight off of their own failed leadership, even rolling out the claims by sore-loser Hillary Clinton who still can’t admit that she lost the 2016 election fair and square. Vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris also pushed the message of “just vote for us and everything will be fine.”

“’Vote for us and things will get better,’” Carlson said. “She’s not telling you how they’re going to get better. Why would she? Just vote! Put us in power and your life will instantly improve. That’s the promise they’re making.”

This is the same promise Democrats have been making for decades,’ the Fox News host noted, pointing to the current conditions in major Democrat cities like Chicago and Baltimore.

“They voted the way Kamala Harris wanted them to vote. Did life improve?” he asked. “That is a fair question. It’s the basic question and maybe the only question that matters.”

Carlson also noted how Harris and others never even mentioned the violent protests and demonstrations that took place in U.S. cities and, in many cases, are still going on.

“The policies they’re pushing are implicated in the violence you’re watching,” he said, concluding his blistering indictment of the Democrats for their missing message.

“Trump bad!” Carlson quipped. “Even if you agree with that, it’s a little thin after a while.”
