President Trump didn’t take insults from former first lady Michelle Obama and fired back at her after what he labeled a “divisive” speech.
Trump leveled a social media broadside at Obama following her attacks on him during the first night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention, in which she slammed his administration for “chaos” and “division.” The president unloaded in a series of tweets on Tuesday, reminding Obama that he would not even have been elected if not for the failure of her husband, former President Barack Obama.

“People forget how divided our Country was under ObamaBiden. The anger and hatred were unbelievable,” Trump tweeted Tuesday. “They shouldn’t be lecturing to us. I’m here, as your President, because of them!”

In her jabs at Trump during the speech Democrats swooned over, the former first lady spoke of the “awesome power of the presidency,” saying the job “requires clear-headed judgment, a mastery of complex and competing issues, a moral compass and an ability to listen.”
“Whenever we look to this White House for some leadership or consultation or any semblance of steadiness, what we get instead is chaos, division and a total and utter lack of empathy,” she said, concluding that Trump is “the wrong president for our country.”
The president let her have it on Tuesday.
“Somebody please explain to @MichelleObama that Donald J. Trump would not be here, in the beautiful White House, if it weren’t for the job done by your husband, Barack Obama,” he tweeted.
He went on to call presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden an “afterthought,” pointing out the “very late & unenthusiastic endorsement” Obama gave of his former vice president.

“My Administration and I built the greatest economy in history, of any country, turned it off, saved millions of lives, and now am building an even greater economy than it was before, ” he wrote, adding “Sit back & watch!”

Trump also came to his own defense on his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, a topic drummed over and over in the DNC’s first night as they rolled out emotional stories of Americans affected by the virus, including one woman who blamed the president for her late father’s decision to go to a karaoke bar and eventually succumb to COVID-19.
The president blasted the Obama-Biden administration for their “weak and pathetic” response to the H1N1 Swine Flu, adding that the “big difference is that they got a free pass from the Corrupt Fake News Media!”
Looking back into history, the response by the ObamaBiden team to the H1N1 Swine Flu was considered a weak and pathetic one. Check out the polling, it’s really bad. The big difference is that they got a free pass from the Corrupt Fake News Media!

He also called out the Obama administration for “spying” on his campaign.
“The ObamaBiden Administration was the most corrupt in history, including the fact that they got caught SPYING ON MY CAMPAIGN, the biggest political scandal in the history of our Country,” Trump wrote. “It’s called Treason, and more.”
He added a final touch, writing, “Thanks for your very kind words Michelle!”

During a White House event on the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage, the president said Michelle Obama “was over her head, and frankly she should’ve made the speech live, which she didn’t do.”
“She gets these fawning reviews. If you gave a real review it wouldn’t be so fawning,” Trump added. “I thought it was a very divisive speech. Extremely divisive.”
In her pre-recorded remarks, Obama issued a call to vote for Biden, hearkening back to the so-called accomplishments in her husband’s administration and the alleged failure of Trump’s.
“If you think things cannot possibly get worse, trust me, they can, and they will if we don’t make a change in this election,” she warned after saying, “It is what it is.”
Sen. Lindsey Graham backed Trump’s Twitter comments with his own on Tuesday.
It is what it is. Without @BarackObama there would be no @realDonaldTrump.

“President Trump has appointed conservative judges, rebuilt the military, destroyed ISIS, cut taxes and regulations, is securing the border, negotiated new trade deals, passed criminal justice reform, re-set the Middle East, is standing up to China, etc…,” the South Carolina Republican tweeted.
He added that his view “of what life was like after the Obama presidency is much different” than that which the former first lady was portraying.
I remember a slow-growth economy, a weakened military, ISIS raging, Iran emboldened, China eating our lunch, businesses struggling, and out-of-control illegal immigration. Those are not the good old days to go back to.
