President Trump calmly responded to a left-wing reporter who asked if he was “rattled” after a press conference was interrupted by an attempted shooting outside the White House.
The brouhaha erupted while Trump was speaking to reporters at the White House press room. At one point, a Secret Service agent interrupted the President and quickly ushered him away from the lectern.
“Excuse me,” Trump said without explanation, while walking away from the podium.
After 10 minutes, President Trump returned to the podium, looking unruffled by the commotion.
A reporter asked: “Are you rattled by this at all, Mr. President?”
Trump—who looked unperturbed—responded: “Do I seem rattled? It’s unfortunate. But the world has always been a dangerous place.”

This is the moment where the President was whisked away by a Secret Service agent.

After returning to the podium, the President explained that there was a shooting outside the White House.
“Sorry for that,” Trump said. “There was a shooting outside of the White House. It seems to be very well under control. I’d like to thank the Secret Service for always doing their quick and very effective work.”
The President continued: “There was an actual shooting. Someone has been taken to the hospital. I don’t know the condition of the person. It seems the person was shot by Secret Service.”
Trump then praised the Secret Service, saying they “are the best of the best” who always make him feel safe.
“You were surprised. I was surprised also,” he told reporters. “[The Secret Service are] very, very professional people. They do a fantastic job. I feel very safe with the Secret Service. They are the best of the best.”
One reporter asked if the Secret Service had taken him to a White House bunker.
Trump replied that he had gone to the Oval Office.
Another reporter asked why he returned to the press briefing, President Trump simply stated: “I didn’t even think about not coming back.”
In contrast, Sleepy Joe Biden probably would’ve taken the rest of the month off to hide in his basement.
In a statement, the Secret Service said an armed man had approached the White House perimeter but was quickly shot in the torso after attempting to draw his gun.
The suspect was hospitalized, but the White House was not breached during the incident, and no Secret Service agents were hurt.
At approximately 5:53 PM today, a 51 year old male approached a U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division officer who was standing at his post on the corner of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue N.W. near the White House Complex.
The suspect approached the officer and told the officer he had a weapon. The suspect then turned around, ran aggressively towards the officer, and in a drawing motion, withdrew an object from his clothing. He then crouched into a shooter’s stance as if about to fire a weapon.
The Secret Service officer discharged his weapon, striking the individual in the torso. Officers immediately rendered first aid to the suspect and D.C. Fire and EMS were called to the scene. Both the suspect and the officer were transported to local hospitals.
The White House Complex was not breached during the incident and no Secret Service protectees were ever in danger.”
The incident comes just days after President Trump ignited widespread concern and an avalanche of prayers after ominously stating that because he has a “lot of enemies out there” gunning for him, “this might be the last time you see me for a while.”
This caused Trump supporters to wonder if left-wing assassination threats were escalating because the election is quickly approaching.
