DC Comics turns ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ into a flat-chested, out-of-shape soccer mom

On Friday, DC Comics shared a teaser of an upcoming “Wonder Woman 1984” prequel comic cover, and the teaser seemed to rub many the wrong way.

Look:

It appears DC Comics has transformed fictional superhero Wonder Woman into a suburban soccer mom presumably named “Karen” or “Keisha” …

The comic, a tie-in for the upcoming feature film “Wonder Woman 1984,” will reportedly be published on Sept. 29, three days before the film’s release. The film will be a sequel to the 2017 film “Wonder Woman,” which received rave reviews from the public for not being politically correct.

Conversely, it triggered rage from PC zealots who in some instances felt, as left-wing film director James Cameron put it at the time, that the film had turned Wonder Woman into an “objectified icon.”

Three years later, it seems DC Comics has chosen to listen to the likes of Cameron and transform Wonder Woman into someone who’s anything but an “objectified icon.”

See some of the backlash to the “Wonder Woman 1984” comic cover below (*Language warning):

Why the backlash? Because critics feel as if the politically correct Wonder Woman of 2020 looks nothing like the fit, healthy and busty Wonder Woman of the past.

Like the latter Twitter user above bluntly put it, “Only one word for the Wonder Woman 1984 #1 @RoosterTeeth variant cover by Robin Eisenberg: fat.”

Exactly, and the fact is that the original Wonder Woman was anything but fat.

See below for comparisons:

The good news for critics is that the comic isn’t a reflection of the movie itself, which is slated to again feature bombshell Israeli model Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

The bad news is that the film could still wind up containing a lot of political correctness like “Ghostbusters: Answer the Call,” an all-female reboot that failed spectacularly in 2016 because of its full-fledged embrace of left-wing PC culture.

If DC does choose to go the PC route, it could end up facing the same fate as Marvel, which has gone so PC that it’s now almost as “woke” as Disney.

First, it tapped far-left zealot Ta-Nehisi Coates to write his own comic named “Black Panther” back in 2015.

Then this happened:

“‘The Eternals’ will feature the first openly gay character; the Thor movies will now feature a female protagonist, Lady Thor; and, to top off the intersectional pyramid, the spinoff character Valkyrie from ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ will be a bisexual black woman,” The Federalist reported last year.

“The final Avengers movie hinted at much of this development, when it opened with Captain America comforting a gay man discussing his dating struggles and concluded with a tableau of female superheroes leading the fight against Thanos.”

And then earlier this year it introduced the “wokest” superheroes in comic book history, Snowflake and Safespace:

Hopefully, for DC Comic’s critics, the 86-year-old comic book publisher will never go this route, though you never know …
