President Donald Trump’s decision to send federal agents to quell violence in U.S. cities sparked a heated debate during a Fox News panel discussion.
Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk and liberal radio host Chris Hahn sparred over the use of federal forces in the wake of violence in cities like Portland and Chicago during an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle” Thursday. But the panelists’ disagreements over the president’s actions and decisions soon turned in to a contest over hair, or the lack thereof.

Host Laura Ingraham asked Hahn why prominent Democrats and many from the Obama administration have been essentially silent in the wake of weeks of violent protests and attacks on federal properties such as in Oregon. The progressive pundit and radio host countered that “anybody who’s been a leader in the Democratic Party opposes violence of any type in these protests.”
“That doesn’t mean that they oppose protests. In fact, people should protest if they feel their rights are endangered,” he said.
“What is shocking to me, is how the right-wing in this country which has always been for states rights and federalism, now want the president to send an invading force into cities. The president could not come up with a national strategy to fight COVID-19, he left that to the states,” Hahn added. “But you attack a statue or maybe there’s some vandalism in a city, and he’s going to send in jack-booted thugs to put out the fire. Give me a break! There is no consistency in the right-wing argument.”
“Chris they tried to lock officials in a federal building and burn it down. And forgive me, but I haven’t heard John Kerry, Susan Rice, Samantha Powers, any of the former Obama folks speaking out against that one fact, just one fact, burn down a federal building with people inside,” Ingraham interjected.
“Of course they have!” Hahn fired back. “Everyone has spoken out against violence.”
They don’t have a camera on them 24 hours a day,” he continued, as the Fox News host argued that they could have spoken out on social media.
“I am of the opinion you have to do what is right, not always necessary if you think it will help you in the poll numbers if you think the cities are going to burn,” Kirk said.
“Chris, I think it is disgusting for you to call federal law enforcement officers jack-booted thugs,” he added as Han countered: “They are not. They are private contractors.”
“Let me finish. I let you say your nonsense, let me say my facts,” Kirk shot back. “You’re using some sort of revisionist history that the Democrats have been declarative and they’ve out front saying there was something wrong and destroying. That is not true, at all, whatsoever.”
“President Trump is standing up heroically and bringing in federal law enforcement because he cares about the cities in our country that the Democrats have destroyed. Your party owns these cities, Chris,” Kirk continued.
“When was the last time a Republican was a mayor of Chicago? 1932. You own these cities and Trump is fixing them,” he added as Hahn tried to interject.
“If he cared about Chicago, Charlie, he would have real gun policy in America,” Hahn claimed.
“They have the strictest gun laws in the country, Chris,” Kirk countered as Ingraham attempted to get things back under control.
“They’re buying guns in Indiana, Charlie, you’re smart enough to know that — even with that haircut,” Hahn responded.
“Well Chris, at least I have some hair, okay?” Kirk shot back at the bald panelist.
“I wish I had your hair. I’m jealous, trust me,” Hahn joked.
“I know. I can tell,” Kirk replied as Ingraham ended the debate.
“Okay guys, we don’t have to devolve into hair comments at this point,” she said, laughing. “We have enough serious things to talk about, although it is amusing.”
